We will once again be monitoring this thread during the show and will include your thoughts and comments throughout the show.
A discussion point for this week will be, what are your expectations for the remainder of the 2022 season?
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
For mine expectations for the remainder of the season are to avoid the spoon, consolidate the improvements in our defence and run through the various options for 6 & 7 before settling on the best by round 20.
Well I think after rd 4 the competition is now going to replicate last season. Get ready for more lop sided scores.
We will now see the breakaway 6 I’m guessing. Panthers Storm Roosters Eels Eagles and Sharks replacing Rabbits.
We’ve played one but they were down on troops, Sharks then Eels will give us an indication of where we are at. Kind of hope we play Peachey at 13 this week, then Hastings the week after. I think it will help our attack like how it was in our first trial.
For mine I would like to see the team try and replicate what it was doing in the first half of the first game against the Storm. We were spreading the ball beautifully, pressuring them and arguably dominating them, albeit a weakened side.It seemed to be eyes up style with an emphasis on urgency and speedy execution. There have been moments of this since but not at a sustained level. The Jackson Hastings suspension has proved costly as I believe he drives this style and has the ability and vision to free up the team.
I’d just like to add that we could use Luciano far more judiciously. He’s a great weapon but he has to be coached a little differently and show some sleight of hand. It’s a little too predictable atm and the defences are tending to realise it.
My expectations for the rest of the year is to win every game..

Hi Guys, for the pod tonight, keen to get your thoughts on position in comparison to some other teams.
I actually think we have one of the weakest squads - and when you then add who we have on the sidelines we are probably the worst roster in the comp. I think we are the only team without a state of origin player.
But in saying that we you compare us to some other teams, I don't think we are going that bad, we just haven't had the luck or skill to close out 2 or 3 of the 4 games.
In terms of defence:
We have conceded 76 points across 4 rounds so are now avergaing to conced 19 points a game.
Which is an 11 point improvement on last year.
And better 5 other than:
- dragons 120 points (30 a game)
- raiders 92 points
- Eels 84 points
- Titans 80 points
- Bulldogs 77 points
Our attack is horrible, only scoring 38 points over 4 rounds.
But Bulldogs have only scored 28 points, and they have the fox, Burton, dufty and Naden in their team.
When you look at the broncos, who are 11th - we have only scored 7 less points than them over 4 rounds and only let in 4 more points - yet they have won 2 games out of 4.
I think once we start to get Hastings and the AD and the Ute, and our attack starts to click, we can actually snag a few games, ave finish on top of Bulldogs, Dragons, Brisbane at least.

Paid professionals says it all Joel… our squad has hit an all time low. It reminds me of the warriors of the late 90’s and early 2000’s
We need smarter players.
I'm not sure I completely agree that effort is lacking. I think the effort is there (maybe not the Knights game so much) but with the team we're putting on the paddock we're not too far off playing to our potential.
Now, if we get back Hastings, AD, Stef, Talau our potential rises and we might start to win a couple. As much as I hate to blame luck, we've been cursed the past two games and if we're sitting 2-2 I doubt the conversation's as dire as it is today.
Our attack is worrying because we lack real spark - Laurie isn't threatening in the backline and with Hastings and AD missing we're just a bit unco.
Agree with Garry
Our squad is bottom 4 - particularly with AD, Hastings and the Ute out. Our spine has had Madden, simpkin, Laurie all who have had less than a season. Plus Brooks who is lost
The players are putting in though - which is all you can judge them on.
The squad will be better than this year. The last three years have been paying the dues of bad management from cleary & pascoe

Wasn’t long ago that we had players leaving the ground early… there’s faults at the top isn’t there!
