Has raw talent. Misses the desire.

You need both.

Disagree with the desire part. If he didnt have the desire he wouldnt have sulked and put his head down and excelled in reggies and won NSW Cup player of the year. Ive actually been impressed with his mindset to not sulk and kick rocks.

Bird is doing training with Fabri

think if we sign hetherington for 13 then Bird plas centre

I would probably play him in the second row if we sign Hetherington.

I think unfortunately we might be stuck with Bateman if so I would play him in second row

don't like turuva at centre and very nervous about olam being fit for many games and I dint want starford or naden or AD or feledy in at centre

taylan may is not the best person but geez could be useful at centre if we can get big may over at prop

He wasn't listed in the updated squad on the website today.

fantastic news if true

For me it comes down to concentration and discipline, he just doesn't have it.

I still have a glimmer of hope for Naden. If he can get his head space in the right place he’d be an awesome footballer.

I was there for a long time as well Mike, but this past season he finally broke me.

He needs to get his head in the right place

I've given up waiting for that, it just isn't going to happen.

Probably an unpopular opinion (again) but hear me out.

Tigers have a problem with the likes of Naden, Sullivan Doueihi and a few others that would be better moved on. One of these is not like the others.

One of these players HAS PROVEN that at their best they actually can compete at a physical level at the highest standard. This same player was also kicked in the ass by Benji and sent back to reggies and rather than sulk and kick stones, he competed at his best and was the best player at the level he was asked to play at. Meanwhile his position was repeatedly filled by players like Faatape, Toa who will never have his talent and physical abilities.

I dont disagree with those that have said his mental mindset wasnt right and he cost us badly many times.....but for me the problem of Naden not moving on needs to be turned into an opportunity for the club, give him the incentive, the hope and the reward for a year of hard work and get him through a positive preseason with a clean slate and working in the right direction. This team NEEDS a player like Naden desperately (big body fast centre who can tackle) and he is already there. Benji wants to be a first grade coach, well this is what a first grade coach does.

Too ill disciplined and too many errors.

Would a Bennett/Bellamy be able to coach that out of him?

I find it really hard to dismiss Naden. I see glimpses of excellence but sadly it's broken up by moments of madness

But I agree re coaching. I look forward to the day when our culture, our coaching, our systems can bring out the best in our players rather than relying solely on a saviour to come in and drag everyone out of mediocrity.

Naden needs a culture of excellence around him. We don't provide that yet. But that doesn't excuse him of responsibility. Just makes it harder

I don't think so

Naden was in one of the best systems in the game and they bounced him out.

I think all of us have wanted him to succeed, all of the people at Panthers, Bulldogs & Tigers have all wanted him to succeed & he has up to a point. But none of those 3 clubs have been able to get the dumb stuff out of his game. Not just referring to discipline but also some defensive issues particularly on kick chase. It’s not through lack of effort that these issues occur, they’re a result of an inability to concentrate for a full game. How do you fix that? I think he’s great for the young guys in Cup but who can blame any coach for looking at alternatives for NRL?

Great comment. Do you think, while "we don't provide that yet", that it can happen (soon, would be nice) with Marshall and co? How likely is that?

I really hope Nado can still get himself another contract post Tigers whether in the NRL or UK as he has a young family & I’m not sure what other areas he could venture into. He showed in Cup he still has the talent. I think he could really be a handy outside back in the UK but doubt he’d want to uproot his family and leave Aus’.
