As the excitement (or trepidation) builds leading into the Wests Tigers first game of the 2024 season Eddie is joined by Declan, Steve and Garry to discuss Saturday’s game against the Canberra Raiders in Canberra.
The first major topic of discussion is the reports around Benji Marshall’s approach to coaching, is it a positive or negative for the Wests Tigers in 2024 and beyond?
The focus then turns to the big game on Saturday and some of the surprises in the side that was announced on Tuesday afternoon, can an 18 year old guide the side around the field? Which selection surprised the panel the most? ?How can the Wests win this game?
Steve also gives an update on this season’s Ambush Events, including this weekend’s event at Wests Ashfield for the game against the Raiders.
Finally Yioti’s Quiz makes the Runsheet for this week’s show, it is a quiz with a difference this week so make sure you tune in until the end to see which of the boys walk away with the 2 points this week.

Good pod as always guys, interesting feelings leading to our first game
Good pod guys.
The "story" over Benji's supposed work ethic is utterly ridiculous, even by Dean Ritchie standards.
The News LTD tabloid coverage of the game is a joke and shouldn't be taken remotely seriously.
They are just creating the narrative so if we have a bad season they can say, see it’s Benji’s fault, he doesn’t put in the time. Total BSGood pod guys.

Thanks guys for another entertaining pod. My morning ealks are so much more fun listening to the most recent WTP episode. I have listened to this one twice!
As an aside on Benji I heard him interviewed on the Fan on Fox sports this week and when they highlighted his brilliance with the now famous 06 flick pass to Pat Richards his response was to highlight the Pat Richards fend on the opposing Centre.... there's no try without the fend., he said. He's a team man for sure!
Fingers crossed for a strong showing in Canberra from the team, for the coach and for our debutantes as well!

it’s the narrative of sad old men stuck in the dark ages. I’ve seen Benji out and about with his family multiple times and he is clearly a great father and husband. Why would he need to be in the office from 5am-10pm and miss that time, he could easily work from home and still be around for key moments.
