Wests Tigers showed fans plenty of skill, heart, and determination to defeat the Panthers in last Friday night's trial match at Leichhardt Oval.
In front of a healthy Leichhardt crowd, Wests Tigers turned a two-point deficit into a 16-point win, 26-12. On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, Joel, Josh, and Nick put a fine-tooth comb right through the performance. Taking on a near full-strength Panthers side, our guys stood up and accounted for themselves, despite missing some quality Tigers players, including Royce Hunt, Terrell May, Jeral Skelton, and Kai Pearce-Paul. Some of the other main talking points on this edition of the podcast include:
- Is Heamasi Makasini the most exciting local junior since Tedesco?
- Has Alex Twal grabbed that number 13 jersey for round two?
- Did Adam Doueihi cement himself into the 7 jersey for this season?
- What did we make of the debut performance of Bunty Afoa?
- Are the ongoing contract negotiations affecting Jahream Bula?
While we also look at some of the fantastic performances put in by the young Wests Tigers stars, such as Jack Attard, Jared Haywood, and Javon Andrews. And we run through all the many 'One Word' submissions left by our loyal members of the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. We hope you enjoy this big post-victory edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast!

I reckon Murray will be in 17 as reserve hooker or lock…Still not sure on Twal @13 but I’d start him at prop. Sione could play some lock or maybe Geyer. So much depth since last season it’s incredible.
I remember thinking at half time “Everyone we have seen in this half will be named for Rd 2.” Either starting or on the bench
The exact mix of starters vs bench will be interesting. I can see Seyfarth starting at lock (Benji favours him but not my choice) with Twal and one other as props.
