You guys have been very busy with podcasts this week but thanks for squeezing in one with a match preview before this week's early game. Surprisingly Brisbane do not have a bye but are playing Sunday, so I guess their players are being given an opportunity to recover from SoO???

Podcasters are mostly just people with opinions that happen to have access to a microphone. Their opinions are no more valid than anything offered here.

That’s true, and I don’t think any of us are under the illusion that we are any more than just passionate fans.

Not always. Some do have more info and contacts than posters, for various reasons.

And how would we know if they do or don't? In the case of the WTPF,  I absolutely respect their commitment and enthusiasm for the club.

@mercy-rule they usually say so (not giving source) and mostly they are a lot closer to the action than we are!

Plus
In the case of Wests Tigers Life they have a coach that was on the Tigers staff and still has contacts.
The Wests Tigers Faithfull watch a lot of games in the younger comps and have a good insight into those teams and young players.

"Jeremy Marshall-King gets a release on passionate grounds & joins his brother" Passionate grounds?? Really? That is a quote from a moderator and prolific poster on that other Wests Tigers Forum.

So we should, at least, be thankful for the quality of contributors here, lol

Well I enjoy the forum and podcast to hear opinion and debate from fellow WT sufferers.

So here is an opinion I have that I just can’t escape.

The NRL is broken including but not limited to-

*the jumbled draw, byes, state of origin impact.

*stadium inequality and the politics of stadium funding especially in Sydney.

*contract system- trades, releases, Nov 1 BS, inability to sort out a draft, third party deals, lack of transparency.

*agents- representing players, coaches and media personalities. Murky

*conflicts of interest- media members being coaches, consultants, gm’s, agents, gambling representatives.

*influence of gambling- golden point, 2 point field goals, dead rubber game 3 SOO when they occur, Vegas, team and player sponsorships.

*officiating- the use and non use of technology, inconsistent application of rules week to week game to game. 6 agains, HIA, crushers, hip drops, disrupters, escorts, pressuring kickers, sin bins, judiciary.

Is all this because I’m a disgruntled WT fan that has been worn down by losing.
Absolutely. Winning helps but it really only band aids over the issues.

What is so frustrating is yeah I like other sports from around the world, but the main sports I can actually touch and feel in my back yard are league and cricket and it wears me down that the game is so flawed and my chosen team has suffered because of it in spades.

I try to stay positive because my 13 yo son has followed me into rugby league fandom and wests tigers devotion and all he has seen is 13 years of no finals and ridicule of his team.

Im placing all the hope I have left in 3 people, Richo, Benji & Jerome.

It’s all I can do to maintain some level of positive mental state.

If i don’t  believe how can I expect them to.

If my post is anything to go by it’s easy to have negative thoughts so thank you for picking yourselves up each week and providing the west tigers content and therapy its much appreciated.
