Think Noddy should think of a new profession tbh
@loganr21 I still don’t understand why they gave him a new 2 year contract.
To be fair to Noddy, he hasn't had a lot to work with... but there are very worrying signs around defence.
Someone needs to be accountable for the lack of good signings and the biggest blunder was allowing Jakiya Whitfield to sign elsewhere. Her speed means she is always a threat with the ball in hand this type of player is even more important in the women's game. Plus she is a good defender and capable of building a backline around... she was already here and difficult to find talent like that.
Good to have the 2 centres back this week. I’m sure they’ll want to have big games. As it is these last 3 games will be big mental challenges as much as anything now the team is out of finals contention. But there are still the Pacific Championships to come and some of the girls will be wanting to impress if they’re to have any chance of being picked for those games. Probably the toughest road trip this week too with a game at Townsville 11am kick off. The team is tending to put a good half of footy in and a poor half so if they can get it right for 70 minutes they’ll give themselves a chance.
Thought Chelsea Savill was very good at dummy half against the Cows. You can see she has good footy IQ. Great service & brought the forwards onto the ball well. She’ll be another to watch moving forward into next year. Losana had one of her best games this year as well. When you consider that Losana, Savill, Talataina, Clifford, McGrath are all 20 or younger there’s reason to be optimistic for the future.
Another teenager getting a debut this Thursday, Claudia Brown in for Montana Clifford who has been something of a surprise given she had no previous NRLW experience, a really good defender who doesn’t shirk the task. But Claudia comes in & hopefully she can do a job and help the girls to a win. Leianne back in the centres so that will give another good option in attack & she’s a really good defender as well. And Claudia Neilson gets a debut as well so interesting to see how she goes. Last home game so hoping the girls can have a big one.
Well done to the girls last night showed real determination for that win .. watching every game it was obvious from the start the halves weren’t working but it took the coach until the second last game to realise it he needs to be punted ! Have been very impressed with the forwards they have more than held there ground, defensive the backs were ordinary at the start but have improved as the season progressed. As for next season a couple more key positions added and the priority is a new coach !
Well done to the girls, great effort despite the tough conditions. Need to keep Evie McGrath and Losana Latu playing together moving forward.

Just had a look at the contracts and Najvada, Leianne, Montana & Natasha all off contract this year. The Dogs & Warriors will surely be looking at these players. Hopefully we can keep them but if not then makes it so important to bring others through like Claudia Brown & Lucyannah.

A few weeks ago I thought Losana would be better at 6 but I think she’s done really well last 2 games, she’s grown into that organising role it seems to me. I thought young Evie at 6 looked ok in patches, she has pace & I like that asset in a 6 too. Only 18 she’s still to mature physically, you could see the difference between her & Chelsea compared to the others after the game, but still showed enough to me that she could be a very good 6 next year or year after. I also liked the combo that Losana had with Brooke on that edge, there were glimpses that it could be quite a powerful combo if given time to work together. They’re both only 20 so a lot of improvement still to come. An edge of Kezie in one side & Brooke on the other, both have good size & both great defenders, might benefit the team more than moving Najvada out of 13. Najvada does a really good job at 13 however at some point I think Brooke or Losana could move into that position.Really happy for the girls, a really spirited performance. Go the girls!!! One last game & after a good, tough win last week the pressure has eased and they can go out and enjoy this one. The Sharks are desperate to win & ensure a top 4 spot so won’t be easy especially away from home for the Tigers. I like the Tigers pack & it’ll be a good battle it the middle. Losana at 7 & Bo at fullback have found some form now and the two centres are strong. I think Evie might be targeted a bit as she’s not physically mature yet so that’ll be interesting to see how she copes. Anyway, here’s hoping for another win.
