Yesterdays crowd - WT v Souths - 21k
- 1st v last
- not built up as an event
- 3pm Saturday slot
If it was scheduled as a derby and if we were both top 8 contention - at least 30-40k
Even with yesterday's crowd - it's 3-4k over what CS or LO could hold
Top 8 2023
One issue with our crowds is the split model gives fans an out (I don’t need to drive to LO, I’ll just wait for a CSS game and vice versa). One massive need for a single home ground is the combine out supporter bases into one. If we could do that then I think a 25k+ weekly crowd is quite achievable

The club can't actually set these games up like derby games in the way you are suggesting. They don't decide on the draw.

How does Easter Monday game happen then?
Or storm v warriors each Anzac day?
If it doesn't happen already happen the NRL, should ask each club their top 5 home games, with preferred date, time and venue
Then they do their best to accommodate
It's in NRL, clubs and fans interest to have big games with decent crowds

They’re public holiday events that fall at a certain time each year.
having a game against Souths for example every round 10 or second Saturday in May has no significance to anyone or anything.
Outside of public holidays your only chance to get an event game would be using the theme rounds - women in league, indigenous round ect.

The NRL schedules them because it suits them.

It doesn't all need to be on long weekends - just on the same weekend every year - the game is the event- play for a trophy and build the tradition - even offer reciprocal rights for membership
But if you take long weekends there is:
- easter Monday- eels (locked in)
- Anzac weekend - Manly (strange choice, should change to a deby game
- queens birthday - (this year we play Titans away)
You could also match it up with:
- indigenous round (are we still having a focus on indigenous pathways - that seems to have disappeared since madge left?)
Well the Manly rivalry would be harking back to the Fibros vs Silverails... And this is well deserved as both side of the history of our 1 club deserve this kind of recognition.
We should be playing souths on indeginous round

So big has Indigenous Round become for Souths that the club is expecting a crowd of 40,000 to fill Allianz Stadium on Friday when it hosts Parramatta.
Top 8 2023
I get the crowd capacity point you make, but what do you mean by "accessible"?@frullens I think that’s the problem with going to a CSS/LO model. Not only do we limit the capacity for big games but probably draw less (15k) because people want modern comfort and grounds that are accessible.
Campbelltown is viewed as a long way away by a lot of people. It’s the outskirts of Sydney.
Leichhardt is difficult to get to - yes there is parking but it’s limited and the public transport isn’t the best.
these things are compounded if you have mobility issues especially at Leichhardt.
personally I travel every to watch the team but these are issues people raise about not wanting LO or CSS

I think it's more to do with them playing back at 'home' in Moore Park rather than it specifically being indigenous round (though they do promote that as well as anyone - as do we IMO).

We had 7 players provide input on the jersey.

Thats cool, but with respect, what does that have to do with the reason we should be playing Souffs in the indigenous round?
