Twal should start season as captain
AD to captain when he comes back, with Twal VC.
If Hastings establishes- like to see him made VC with AD
I think this makes a lot of sense. A heaps better option than Tamou.
AD being out of action for ten rounds and than all the mental hurdles to jump, will have enough on his plate without the big C next to his name.
I think you need a bloke who is going to play 80 minutes and a player that is in the thick of it. A player who is a talker and has a super competitive streak.Hasting ticks those boxes.
Twal is probably the only one guaranteed to get picked every week ....but is he a captain ??

I honestly don't think we have a captain.

No one who will be fit by Rd 1 anyway

The obvious choice is AD, but I would like him to get more time to work on his game without the added burden.

Look I’ve picked Nofoaluma, mainly because he’s the last man standing tbh. And it would only be until Douehi is back in the team.
Is there really any point naming Tamou as this will be his swangsong ??

Nofa would be the worst choice. Would reward his poor season last year.

Even with our 2023 signings ...I'm not sure if they are leaders either

Yeah it is a real concern mate.

@garry just one a list of players that had an underwhelming season. Tim Brasher captained from the wing, the great Warren Boland as well 🤘

They also played with an attitude that I would expect from a captain. Nofa seems to be a guy that feels like he plays at a level above his team mates.

I agree with so many posters above. All our options are pretty ordinary. If Tamou hadn't been given the captaincy last year I'd state Brooks or Nofo atm and they both don't seem good options.
To be honest the captaincy role probably isn't that important.
@unhappy-tiger it's really our biggest issue.
We need on field leadership and get a bit of grittiness about us.
We need some ticker to turn those close games to wins, and stop the loses turning into floggings

I agree. Interesting how there’s basically no love for Tamou. I can’t believe how tone deaf he was, or just didn’t care, when he had his social media gushes of love for “Nate and the boys”. I don’t think of him even as a Wests Tiger, let alone the leader of the team.
