1999 at the time of the merger. I was all in. As a mad Wests supporter and a Balmain junior I really had no choice.

Dad followed them so I had no choice. My kids will have a choice though: tigers or sleep outside

1966. I played soccer for a club whose colours were black and gold and the logo was a tiger. As an 8 year old it made sense to carry that over to whatever sport I wanted to follow.

Followed the Magpies since about 1973 or so, was a natural transition to support Wests Tigers.

When I was about 4 we would go and watch my dad play for the Aberdeen Tigers and when I saw Balmain playing on TV, I thought it was my Dad's team so it started from there. When I started playing I played for the Aberdeen Tigers and it just grew from there.

I was originally a Balmain Tigers girl so it was a natural conversion to WestsTigers in 2000 for me. 🐯

1977 Amco Cup Final .....My interest was raised as the BRL Cup sides played in it and my Wests Panthers had made the comp as the 1976 Premiers

So Wests it was

With what has happened the last month it wouldn't have surprised me if the question was " How much longer do we have to remain as Wests Tigers supporters "

These days I couldn't care less if I was working a WT's game or not ...not even annoyed I'm missing SOO this Sunday

Dad grew up at Five Dock (he's 87 now) and could see Leichhardt Oval from his backyard. He supported Balmain and I had no choice.

My father grew up around the corner from Pratten Park so was Wests Magpies, his father and uncle owned the sports store on Liverpool Rd in Ashfield that was always adorned with Magpies colours (it's now Elders Real Estate).

That was the family I grew up around so my team of choice was preordained...

Those Amco cup years were great. As a kid I always looked forward to Wednesday nights, it was also a chance to see teams from outside Sydney.

I agree with your last sentence. I too have missed a few games this year, about 3 or 4 already and yeah, hasn’t bothered me.

The fact that no one has come to the club (in this poll at least) without a Balmain or Wests background is a worry.

Maybe also a demographic thing for this forum?

20 year Olds are unlikely to be on forums.
