New topic where we can share personal stories about the Wests Tigers (**any stories shared might be used for future pods). I'll go first;

So between 2010 - 2013 I attended a few consecutive Wests Tigers Grand Final Luncheons at Le Montage, Haberfield. For anyone who ever went to these, it was around $300-350 a ticket for a 3 course meal (unlimited alcohol - here we go) and 4 hours to rub shoulders with players, coaches, staff and fans alike. At one of these events I was quite sauced up and moving about the function room looking for my next hero to talk to. I remember some poor fella looking very nervous tapped me on the shoulder and said "excuse me, Benji, do you mind if I get a photo?". At this point I had two options - 1. tell the poor fella he had made a mistake. 2. oblige and pose for the photo. I'd like to add at this point that all these years later, I would choose number 2. But you guessed it, I went with photo. To make it worse, after the photo he produced a football and a texta. He says "my son is a huge fan, would you mind signing this for him?". By this point I was in so deep that I had to follow through! I asked what his son's name was, wrote a brief message (can't remember, probably something like "Johnny, keep stepping! All the best, Benji Marshall"). After handing the footy over I quickly walked away to avoid any further embarrassment. I still think of this moment from time to time and wonder how long it took the bloke to realise I wasn't Benji Scared

Funnily enough I have been told I look like Benji on several other occasions. Perhaps these people all need their eyes checked!
