oops. Sorry, my previous comment belongs on another thread.
Nothing from the club, but it’s a done deal in my eyes. Thanks everyone. Contract list corrected and Sullivan has been removed as well. We have 2 roster spots available.
Hate to be that bloke, but anything official on Sullivan?
Added Sione Fainu to top 30 for 2025 & 2026. Total for 2025 is 29, leaving one spot available..
Big Red extends to the end of 2028. @nick_hayzee will be happy. @garry not so much… 😂😂😂😂
Great news. Underrated player who will massively benefit from an improved halves combinationBig Red extends to the end of 2028. @nick_hayzee will be happy. @garry not so much… 😂😂😂😂

All estimations that come to $10,600,000 give or take. Leaves approx $1.2 million for 3 players. It means you could upgrade Lachie to $800,000 next year, that's a $450,000 increase which only we can offer him and could be used to sweeten an extension of some kind. Or an increase of $250,000 to $600,000 therefore leaving another $600,000 for the 29th and 30th player, an edge forward perhaps. If Lachie doesn't extend then there would be approx $850,000 left to spend on 2 players.
Given the salary cap increases another $150,000 in 2027 it means any increase for Lachie now could also increase again by at least $150,000 then. For instance if Olam retires there’d surely be something there this year to increase Lachie’s contract, let’s say by $250,000 to $500,000. If you again increase it by $250,000 next year to $600,000 he’s made an extra $500,000 that no other club can give him now. And the club would have $600,000 left for a 29th & 30th player next year. But he only gets that increase now if he extends, let’s say 2 more years where we pay him $1 mill approx for 27 & 28. That’s basically us giving him $2.5 million. Unless he kills it this year he won’t be offered much more than that by another club. It also would allow him to focus on his footy & this club now & at the end of 27 decide if it’s going well or not. At that time he’ll be just 22 with hopefully well over 60 games played. The club will also know more about him. This seems a no brainer to me but only if my estimations are close to the mark. Who know for sure?
I would be shocked if Richo has not offered him and the family a generous uplift for the remaining 2 years...I believe the sticking point may be the extension years...$1m per year is one hell of a punt on a player that may end up in the 13. Maybe the view is that the future is Latu and Luai in the halves and Galvin at 13..The club would have significant detail on his physical growth trajectory and likely end body shape and how that translates to speed, mobility endurance etc... I have heard he was offered $800k per season for the 2 year extension.

this is a key point. LG is leaving big sums on the table now by not accepting our upgrade & extension. The manager must be telling him that he can get big money elsewhere.
Galvin must also acknowledge that he’s taking a risk by not accepting the new contract especially when he risks injury every time he takes the field.
These points leave me to think he will not re-sign with WT.
@mickb he is only 19 and probably thinks he is bulletproof. It would be a greater risk if the team does well and he doesn't dominate as much as he did last year. That could bring his value down, I think that's the greater risk. Moses is probably telling him he can get a dylan brown type deal somewhere $1.1M+ over 10 years...I don't think Richo would offer him anything like that.
