I mean I was quite impressed with Benji on Fox the other night with what he said in regards to wanting to coach WTs.
But Wow! a 5 year offer I think is a bit over the top for the unknown…
Elias also disagreed on five captains back 23 February 2022 so not always wrong

I think they had to get him out of fox sports so 2 years mentor and 3 at the helm is not too bad a deal
Benji also has a pretty good relationship with Luke Brooks so will be interesting times ahead
I'm ok with this.
I think we are at a point where we need some bold and innovative moves to try and shift the narrative about the club and this move certainly fits the bill.
It's way better than appointing one of the usual suspects from the coaching merry-go-round like Paul Green or Shane Flanagan.
It's also a great story and although I' sure many will trash the move it will also create positive headlines and should create some optimism about the place.
God knows we need some of that.

One thing Benji does bring is his affinity with the modern era player and very high regard among his peers. Hopefully this equates to us being a more attractive destination.

Not quite the outcome I was expecting but I’m not against it. I was calling for a fresh face with fresh ideas, someone who could speak the same language as the current player but didn’t expect Benji. The 5 year deal is strange.

I am a bit shocked ATM and words fail me need a bit of time to digest this one . Giving a 5 yr coaching contract to someone that has never been a coach is probably the most out there decision this club has every made ! Need more time to digest this ..
I felt much more comfortable offering 5 years to Ciraldo. This is too much for someone who hasn't coached and has had dramas with the club before.

It's proof that no one else wanted the job and the club was stupid to sack Madge (who genuinely wanted to be here) without having a credible successor locked and loaded.
It's a plan so bonkers it much just work. I'm here for it - the next few years will not be dull.

Wow 5 year deal for someone who hasn’t even been a assistant coach is nuts in my opinion. Just hope they have another experience coach as well.
