I think what he says publicly is very different to what is being discussed privately..

Sheens is the master of spin with the press. No way he can be taken at face value!
Anyway, I don't want him to coach... this pipe-dream that he can bring success quickly and have an accomplished apprentice at his elbow who inherits his legacy is just that - a dream!
The reality is that the likelihood of Sheens failing as a coach is far greater than the chance of the pipe-dream coming to fruition.
And a failed Sheens coaching campaign would leave the club in exactly the same terrible place and another 2-3yrs wasted, or even worse!

That’s a good point. I’m also worried about taking him away from his current role.

The best interview Sheens gave I think was on SEN last summer he said something to the effect of
"Ill be making sure the first grade coach doesn't blow our salary cap by getting too carried away with signings."
We need that role preserved. We can't go back to clowns like Pascoe having a say in recruitment.

I should have made my sarcasm/facetiousness more obvious. I wasnt serious. IMO the Club royally screwed this up and will set the club back 10 years, if we even survive.
Again IMO the fact that they havent named a coach and that there is all of this talk about Sheens, means that no coaches of any quality are prepared to come.
Sheens statement that its "Not his preference" to coach translates to "I really want to find a coach but we cant". IMO
Some bloke on the other forum saying our first 4 choices have all declined the offer.
