Luckily for me I am able to switch off more or less the day after the match has happened. So I am 100% into it for 24 hours, then I move on, even if it's a bad loss. I therefore usually avoid posting straight after the match. And because I am an eternal optimist, I just look to next week, because there is always another game of league.
We have to be honest with ourselves: if not being able to deal with losing was a deal-breaker, we would have ceased being Tigers or Magpies fans a long long time ago. For example my Dad is 70 and he's only seen Tigers win the premiership twice in his whole life. That's pretty wild when you consider Panthers fans just saw it twice in the last two years.
@frullens You are a gentleman.
- We’re 0-2,but no need to implode just yet.Granted it was ugly as the proverbial hatful,but on a positive note I’m really liking the look of our pack this week,especially the back three.I believe these boys have cool heads,especially Fonua Pole who right from the outset has looked the part.
The expectations of winning at Leichhardt won’t be a factor this week.I’m foolish enough to think we can reverse fortunes against the Dogs,and I still have belief in this outfit.They just need to tone it down a little and stop trying to perform the miraculous on every play.
Nice gesture Frullens. But for me the footy, and Wests Tigers in particular, are a distraction from all the other stuff that goes on. It’s that other stuff I sometimes find difficult to deal with. Footy, as the Fire Up boys say, is a pantomime, it’s theatre to me and I love it. I, of course, feel the disappointments and the frustrations but nothing beats those 3 or so hours I get to go out and watch the footy.Sending out my love to all of our long suffering WT community
Fire Up is a great way to bring some levity to the situation, especially with Kris being a Tigers fan.
Strong recommendation.
Good man Kris. Could do worse than have him on the Board. I doubt he’d want to seeing he has so many other things going on but he’s a long time member, a sponsor for a number of years, successful business man, media personality etc. I think he’d represent the club, and members, very well.
I used to listen to Fire Up religiously until Brett Oaten finished up. When I lived in London, they were great to cure homesickness. May have to have another listen
For some reason, WT fans seems to be overly represented by podcasts hosts.
