Logan Dillon might be a smokey for an upgrade to the top 30 if he plays well in the trial.
Stronger starting side named than I thought...
23 fit players all getting a run..
Jake Simpkin and a notable absence

@helmesy must have an injury
An area the club could do much better in - injury updates.

Still in the rehab group..did his shoulder last year..
May be a few with minor injuries.. Laurie still coming back as well but supposed to be training well..Hastings we know..
Notable omissions for me are Garner and Mamaulo..heard nothing regarding any injuries to them

This was discussed with Pascoe.. sometimes with minor injuries the Coaching staff do not want it advertised..I can understand that
Major injuries like Blore though..they dropped the ball...he admitted that..
Looking forward in particular to seeing how Dillon, Rua, Israel and all these other promising WT Jnrs perform in these coming trials over the next couple of weekends.
Could omissions simply be Covid related ....
Always a possibility, its pretty much everywhere.

Interesting consideration. I would love to know how many of the squad have had it. I read a report that only 3 of the Eels squad have NOT had it, which is a bonus going into the season (increased immunity). I hope the whole squad has had it and recovered but Im sure that is not the case.
So who is being rested? Who is injured or not available?
Was keen to see Hastings, but not in the list.

Hastings has a minor leg injury, hopefully see him next week.

Wests Tigers insist Jackson Hastings is nursing a lower-leg injury and his omission from Friday’s first trial had nothing to do with shielding him from the feisty welcome he would have received from former club Manly.
Things ended in ugly fashion for Hastings at the Sea Eagles in 2018 after the well-documented altercation with skipper Daly Cherry-Evans in Gladstone. There were reports of several run-ins with players, while former coach Trent Barrett even made the stunning admission, “He [Hastings] does have a bit of an issue fitting in with the group at times”, before he banished him to reserve grade.
The young playmaker rebooted his career in the UK-based Super League – he won a Man of Steel award and featured in two grand finals – before he signed with the Tigers for this NRL season.
The sight of Hastings taking on the Sea Eagles, several of whom were on the northern beaches in 2018, could have delivered the NRL some rare on-field February fireworks.
The Tigers were well aware of the Hastings storyline once they were drawn to play a trial game against Manly. It is also not lost on the club that their second trial on Friday week is against the Sydney Roosters, where Hastings also played before reportedly falling out with some senior players.
Tigers coach Michael Maguire said Hastings’ injury would not keep him out of the Roosters’ trial in seven days’ time. Hastings’ history with the Sea Eagles, Maguire said, was “done and dusted”.
Hastings was spotted in a moon boot last week and limited to light duties during a Central Coast training camp.
“Jacko will play next week [against the Roosters],” Maguire said. “He’s had a really good pre-season. He had a cortisone injection last week; they normally say it takes five days [to recover], but the longer you can give them the better.
“He’s really keen to play. With Jacko out, we’ll give Jock Madden and a few others a go [in the halves].”
Hastings, 26, is determined to make the most of his NRL second coming, and the half has been noticeably vocal at most field sessions as he looks to forge a long-time pairing with Luke Brooks.
Tigers insiders believe the game Hastings has circled on his calendar is not Manly or the Roosters, but round 11 against the Bulldogs, where Barrett now coaches.
Tigers fullback Daine Laurie, Luke Garner and Ken Maumalo will miss the Sea Eagles trial, while Manly coach Des Hasler will trot out his top-liners, including skipper Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic. Jake Trbojevic, who is nursing a rib injury, and Josh Schuster (ankle), will not feature.
