Not sure who the coach might be, but what do we think the team will look like for this game at Campbelltown?

Presuming Doueihi, Twal and Nofoaluma are available.

How about?

1. Laurie

2. Nofoaluma

3. Doueihi

4. Naden

5. Maumalo

6. Brooks

7. Hastings

8. Tamou

9. Brown

10. Musgrove

11. Leilua

12. Garner

13. Ofahengue

14. Utoikamanu

15. Peachey

16. Twal

17. Tuilagi

Coach: Brett Kimmorley 😆🤣😆

Based on the reserve grade game I’m watching, I can’t see Nofa forcing his way in to the firsts. Very disappointing effort from Nofa. Same for Simpkin.

Poor all round, or defensively, ball control etc?

Nofa wasn’t in the game at all, hardly touched the ball, saw him drop a pass (albeit a difficult one). played a bit at fullback too I think, saw him in the frame a second or so after Souths’ tries. As for Simpkin, his defence is ineffective. His technique is to go high and hold until someone takes the legs but unfortunately by the time this happens the ball carrier has advanced 10 or more metres. Then again defensively, the whole team were ineffective. Just like the firsts, Souths made easy metres through the middle. Madden played well though, has some footy smarts.

Nofa had a really bad missed tackle for souths second try. Such a shame as his firm was ok before the concussion removed link

NRL 2022: Michael Maguire’s saviour Adam Doueihi in doubt for Wests Tigers | Daily Telegraph

The planned return of Doueihi has also caused some angst in the Tigers ranks.

Doueihi has been medically cleared to play his first game of the year against Manly next Sunday.

The plan is for Doueihi to potentially start from the interchange bench, with Maguire and Doueihi keen for the pivot to return to the field as soon as possible.

However, News Corp has learnt there is some resistance from within the club in Doueihi returning as early as round 14. There is a thought that some want him to rehabilitate for the rest of the season to preserve his long-term future.

The 23-year-old is on the comeback trail from a second knee reconstruction on his left knee and has not played since round 23 last year.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

No issues resting AD for the remainder of the year. He is one of our best players and future leader of the club. We’re going to need him fit next year

I got out there as well today.

I missed the first 10 min

My main gripe is with the selections. Some fans are celebrating the fact that 9-10 players are still eligible for Flegg. Im not. Souths had blokes that have played Cup for years. James hasson, dean nicholls, even buddy Gordon still getting a run at 35! The only regular cup player in our side is Freebairn and perhaps Pauga. Who is our second tier cap being used on? Who are these kids learning off if they are thrown in alongside other kids?

Trey Peni has promise but he’s a kid. Israel Ogden is a few years older but warms the bench?

Matamua is very promising if he is only 18 but why is he playing 80 mins? Poor bloke was gassed midway through the second half.  He will end up the same way as Tuki simpkins (lost all confidence) if we are not careful.

There’s just no point throwing so many kids in at once.

On the flip side why weren’t Nu Brown, Peachey and Kepaoa considered today? All 3 should have been out there. If Kepaoa walks into the NRL side next week then there are serious issues at the club. AJ has played no footy and he’s been really ordinary in 2/3 games this year.

I really hope there are no problems with Noffa. I thought he was ok today particularly at fullback where he was very vocal and marshalling the defence. We dont really have any other decent wingers. Maybe Star plays wing next week if AD plays centre.

Good point about Kepaoa, got to stop picking him on the wing.

AD no doubt wants to play but the medical team has to take a cautious approach and make sure he is ready. Same approach should apply to any player. It is painful to watch good players when they play injured. Ken has been playing on one leg and same with Turbo before he did his shoulder.

I think that if it might mean winning the odd game and potentially saving his job, Madge will throw him in....

Any evidence that Brooks would be a better 9 than Simpkins?
