Wests Tigers co-captain James Tamou will miss the opening round of the season against the Melbourne Storm after accepting an early guilty plea for a dangerous conduct charge from the pre-season trial against the Roosters.
Tamou was handed a grade two charge for taking out Sam Walker's legs as he tried to apply kick pressure in the 12th minute of the clash at Central Coast Stadium.

Expected. I guess what saved him from a worse suspension was that he stopped looking at Walker when he set himself for the tackle and in that split second Walker jumped into his kick.
Definitely unintentional, as clumsy as it was.
Will definitely make the team selection trickier now that Liddle is also out.

Yeah. When you look at it closely Tamou was aiming for his hip/waste region. He didn’t take into account that the kicker basically elevates a bit (effective jumps slightly) when they kick. It was unintentional but definitely reckless.
