Gilly did have that lapse that cost us. He's not the worst on the park

Took some hard early hit ups, supports the ball player and recently he darts out of dummy half

He has a good attitude and great intent. His adaptation to the Aussie version of NRL and Défense will get there.

Im not giving up on him yet

I'm also not ready to give up on him.

Blokes travelled to the other side of the globe to test himself in the premier rugby league competition.

He shows effort and enthusiasm, I can't imagine he isn't working double time to improve his deficiencies.

If injuries mean Gildart plays than compared to the qualities previous marquee centre signing Joey L offered,

I'll put up with Oli 8 days a week.

Should we just "put up " with any player .....might be the part of this clubs problem since 2012 ....fans accepting mediocrity

If he's not up to it, for both our and his benefit, he should be in reserves.

I agree, Gildart needs time in reserves to adjust to the speed, intensity and physicality of NRL. I’ve seen glimpses of speed and agility from him.

Dolphins apparently interested in Daine Laurie.

When Turbo is finished with him tomorrow a lot of opinions will change unfortunately

Hearing a rumor that there’s a leilua/ Drinkwater swap on the cards for this year. Not confirmed but in the works.

@declan do you think that means Laurie might end up at Dolphins in 2023

@jedi-tiger no idea

it does seem suss that they haven’t re-signed him yet which could be a telling sign.

I wouldn't resign him yet, plenty of time to get that deal done.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

I can’t see why the cows would do this. They’re humming along really well with Drinkwater at the back, and their back row is hardly struggling.

True but Drinkwater has been one of their best attacking players in recent weeks. Can’t see it happening. Hope it’s true though - Drinkwater is a gun.

I’m not against the idea, I like Drinkwater, a bit worried about our backrow stocks if LL does go though.

I guess I'm just accepting the point the club has reached on the centre depth chart.

AD, Kepaoa, Toa, Talau, Roberts, probably someone I've overlooked, Gildart.

No argument Gildart has been sub nrl standard,

And reserves would be ideal testing ground,

But centre depth has been truly stretched by injuries across the backline and it probably wasn't that stacked to start with.

Personally I can’t see Daine moving that far away from his family in Iluka.
