unfortunately our issue is not just the halves, it goes a lot deeper and is across the park. I was hoping the appointment of a coaching director would bring attitudinal change within the playing group. I haven’t seen this as yet but maybe I’m being impatient. Having said that, there is enough talent in this group to be playing a lot better  then what we are seeing.

we should have beaten gold coast and new Zealand

the only  bad games were Newcastle and sharks

I don't think we are that far off, we will not get a better time to play parramatta, we need to get down into the trenches and make it a backyard brawl and a streetlight, niggle Brown and Moses and bait Gutho really get in their faces put them on the deck every time they touch the ball. Moses is a good player but when the going gets tough he goes missing, the ultimate flat track bully.

Do think a 7. Hastings 6 Brooks combo is just as good as 7. Moses 6 Brown combo, the difference is Gutho he is lightyears ahead of Laurie and Mahoney is light years ahead of Simpkin obviously.

I think Moses and Brown are a gazillion times better than Brooks and Hastings.

It is just an ever changing market ...Knights have approached NRL about Milford ...they also signed a real good up and coming half from Mt Isa on Tuesday ...having a mental blank to his name .

If club hadn't signed Brooks to such salary cap constrainting contract or had a club willing to pay enough freight we could be signing good up and coming half from Mt Isa.

Week or so ago there was a brief discussion of a single player who could turn things around......

I have to admit I got something very wrong. Last year when we were supposedly in the running for Finucane, I wasnt fussed and didnt want the club spending massive money on him. I was wrong he is exactly the man we needed. What he is doing at Sharks is exactly what we need. Actual leadership.

last week was his worst game for the Sharks by far

Storm vs sharks will be interesting, Storm will smash him

4 years was a bad deal don't care how well he trains, I reckon it will be 3 years and 4th medically retired just like Burgess rubbish.

deal was done after 2018 halfback of the year to be fair and it was incremental increases 2019 was only 500k or so and  jumped up for last 2 years of contract.

Hindsight is wonderful but at the time heading in to 2019 he was playing well much better than he is now

isn’t this reason why we bought Tamou. I wasn’t keen on Tamou and Finucane would have zero impact here with our current setup.

So who would have impact? This is part of the recruitment problem in my opinion. This bloke’s too expensive, this bloke wants too long, this bloke would have no impact. The list of excuses just goes on and on.

we need to target key positions and then target players with impact and experience and leadership qualities and then do whatever it takes to attract them to our club.

A sprinkling of top line experienced players added to the blokes we currently want to keep will see us closer to a top side than most people think I reckon.

Finucane’s experience and attitude would have been ideal. It would have been a great support to Tamou and great role model to our younger blokes.

That’s right Steve. I’m so over the excuses.

Some people wouldn't be happy if we signed Turbo on minimum wage after he expressed his undying love for the Tigers. Tigers fans need to manage their expectations with signings and players in general. A perfect example is Daine Laurie. He has had some shocker this year but last year everyone loved him. The fact is he is young, raw and cheap.

If we want to be a development club, we are going to get rocks and diamonds performances from the young guys. We also need to get several guys with the RIGHT experience and may have to pay overs for them. We need them to teach the young guys.

From SMH…

Tuilagi is bound for Manly on a three-year deal after Sea Eagles football manager Scott Fulton paid a visit to the 23-year-old’s western Sydney home on November 1 last year, the first day he could officially negotiate with the Samoan powerhouse.

So bloody frustrating that he was contracted to us and we stalled on negotiating a new deal/let him become a free agent.
