My understanding of the Brooks situation is similar to Geo’s thoughts. I have been told directly from within the club many times that Brooks is 100% supported by the club and the footy department. I have been told emphatically he is not going anywhere and he in fact wants to stay.
His silence, I would say, is due to him being totally fed up with the constant criticism and speculation. I think it has got to him and has affected him. I’d also hazard a guess that the club are purposely keeping him away from the spotlight.

I would be very surprised if he did not run out as 7 for us Round 1.

To be fair he’s the highest paid player at the club. It wouldn’t take a lot of effort for him to say ‘I want to stay’. I don’t think it’s an unreasonable expectation.

Noone pays players to play elsewhere that they want to keep, and Sheens has said we want to keep him. If he goes to the Knights we’re not chipping in anything. Only way we’re chipping in is if we’re actively shopping him, which we’re not (apparently).
There is no way the Knighrs are looking to pay full freight, they aren't that stupid.
