Dylan Brown has re-signed with the Eels.

That player option from 2026-2031 is bonkers - makes me think they know they've lost someone else.

Imploding desperate time for the eels me thinks.

This is the kind of offer you give to those exceptional players that constantly win you games week in week out.

He's a really good player, but what happens if he doesn't go on with it? There are lots of players that looked great early on and never progressed. Look at Ash Taylor. If his form crumbles, they're stuck with him until 2031.

Very reminiscent of Brooks isn’t it all the pressure of an entire club riding on his shoulders and we all know how that turned out.

The structure of eels Contract would be interesting to see who it favours more with the options past the extra 2 years.

Agreed. The worst thing for us would have been Brown signing at Dolphins or elsewhere. Hoping they have thrown a LOT of their eggs on the DBrown basket.

Dylan Brown extending with parramatta looks promising.

Dogs rumoured to be now looking at Neslon Solimona from Storm *how on earth to they fit them in) if they land Crichton too surely no room for Moses

Will Moses be parting Victoria Road ?? Yes think so

I am no fan of Moses but I do like seeing the Eels doing dumb stuff so this makes me happy.

Not convinced Moses is going anywhere just yet unless a club makes a huge offer for him. The Eels could still make a good offer especially if the cap increases over the next few years. He’s sitting in a good position right now. At his age, and now a family to support, surely the best offer wins out. No surprise to see him stay, go to Dogs or us as all up in the air.

Looks like Eels haven’t given up on keeping Moses…

Brown's re-signing eases pressure on Parramatta whose attention turns to re-signing Mitchell Moses.

Like Brown, Moses is a wanted man. The Bulldogs and Wests Tigers are both reportedly interested in signing the halfback.

"The priority was to lock both of them up and that remains the case," Sarantinos said.

"We're still very keen for (Moses) to be at the club long term and that's our priority and the discussions are still continuing.

"The guys (Brown and Moses) showed how well they combined this year and they took us to a grand final.

"To have one of the best halves pairings is critical in the success of any team.

"(Re-signing both players would leave) us in a really strong position to maintain a level of competitiveness and be a premiership threat each year."

I would be very surprised if Moses stays at the Eels. You don't give a player a 6 year player option unless it's complete desperation.

Yep to me it looks like Parra have gone all in on Brown, that sort of desperation looks to me like they have lost their other option.

It seems that way, but with us being the other team, I am assuming the Bulldogs used their cash for Chrichton and to chase NAS, I am still worried that we somehow miss out.

@garry That’s probably the case but Brown is a talent no doubt. He’s played in a GF and played for his country yet still very young. He’ll probably improve so worth their club locking him up long term if they can, or at least have an option there for him. It would also send a message to Moses & other clubs “We’ll fight to keep who we want to keep. We want you to partner him again Mitch.”
Now, I still believe Moses will probably go for the biggest financially rewarding offer given his circumstances but the Brown signing could be of some influence I guess.

Player options until 2031 is madness in my opinion. I still think Brown needs to show he is a consistent performer.
