What I would like to see happen with the 3 that did not meet fitness standards set by Benji, would be their current contracts torn up and therefore removed from the top 30... but I would still like to offer them a chance to earn their place back if they choose by offering them train & trial deals outside the top 30... it would then be up to them to work their way back if they desire.
Also opens up roster spots for us and I'd like to see Sione Fainu get one of them if he has shown he wants it.

Interesting approach. I wonder if this allowed under the rules? Also, surely you can't rip up contracts on a first offense?

They would be gone in 60seconds, and Sione would be out the door with Latu with Samuela right behind him.
By all means they should be punished for not meeting their commitments, however unless they have had multiple infractions it should just be a kick in the arse and a wake up call. This month they have before they front the board is probably an opportunity to see if they kick stones and disengage, or they knuckle down and work hard to get to the right level. I have no issue with the way it's been handled and if it scares some players away from signing with us, than I don't want them in our team, as they are probably not in it for the "crocodile roll". The players whose commitment is not questioned would love this attitude as they don't want lazy or uncommitted players around them.

I have no idea to be honest, maybe is a little harsh.
Maybe you can demote them out of the top 30 while maintaining their current contracts... no idea!
But I just think we need to be tougher on this type of thing. I mean being fit is these guys job. Is it not?

Do you get a holiday in your job?
Pole extension incoming

@garry At this stage I am not a big Pole fan .. He can run off the back fence has a bit of a step .He seems to think that having a body like King Kong makes for a top NRL forward .IMO he needs to to get out of full time gym work and lose some muscle and gain more high intensity training this would help his lateral movement which is pathetic at the moment and would help his defensive efforts which is also sub standard . Definitely a good player there but Imo needs to change his philosophy to his training regime a bit lighter and more agile , hopefully the high performance guys see this !

Genuinely not a criticism Snake but its interesting how opinions can differ.
I pretty much have the 180 opposite opinion of Pole. IMO he is much less effective at the "hit em up" run off the back fence kind of prop play. Whilst he certainly has a rig that he is pretty proud of, he is short and I think not heavy for a prop and for mine his skill and point of difference is his footwork in attack and that opposition defences cant set and hit against him because of that footwork. Particularly useful near the line.
100% his lateral defence needs improvement.
i think Pole is a very specific type of middle and one that compliments the May/Klem/Hunt rotation. Im very surprised and happy he is staying.
it's being announced on BTR this afternoon2 yr extension until 2027Pole extension incoming
I wonder what happened to "Members will hear first"
The club seems slightly leakier than it has been. I blame Lachy the intern.

@tiger5150 We all see things differently at times.. my comments were in relation to last season but as you say it’s a different looking forward pack with the inclusion of May , it was agitating watching his defence last season .
@helmesy I think you’re probably right. Hard to imagine them signing a second string lock to a decent contract. I believe their cap isn’t it great shape either
You’d think that would be the case. I wonder if Madge is still so bitter and twisted that it’s about him and us, not the Broncos/Hetherington.
given that he was also sacked by Richo there’s every chance he’s very bitter haha
