Gus must have learnt some great salary cap tricks from Politis, they will now have Kikau, Critta, Burton, Papenhausen (potentially) all marquee players than you add May (potentially), Kiraz, Marney, Toupinua, Xerri who would all have plenty of suitors and therefore would come at a premium now or when they need to be upgraded and extended. Also, a number of highly touted Juniors that you need to keep happy and engaged ($$) and then your toilers who have been doing a decent job for the team and got them to the finals last season.
So Rorters are not extending Brandon Smith...no surprises there...I also think they would let him go early if someone made an offer for him. Hell of a player when he is on, however I don't think he will be getting $850k per year in his next contract. Could be decent for us at lock (I say that very hesitantly). More importantly that's another $850k the rorters will have in 2026, Uncle Nick is building one hell of a bank, we need to really lock in Galvin and any other Kids that might shine in 25.
Yep, they’ll be lashing out very soon, evil buggas. So Rorters are not extending Brandon Smith...no surprises there...I also think they would let him go early if someone made an offer for him. Yep, they’ll be lashing out very soon, evil buggas. You can’t match them so a club like ours only can try to develop & add a good player here & there. We will lose a few good ones along the way but have to continue with this plan & it will pay off eventually. So Rorters are not extending Brandon Smith...no surprises there...I also think they would let him go early if someone made an offer for him. And u can guarantee the next lot of recruits for them will be long term prospects or, at very least, guys they know will have 4 or 5 years good footy in them.Yep, they’ll be lashing out very soon, evil buggas. Who is reporting it Joel? If true it’s a great move for him. Croft & Hastings both have proved it to be a great move for young halves who needed to get their careers back on track. A big move away from family but why not have a crack for a couple of years, see Europe & get away from the NRL for a while.Reports that Sullivan could be set for a move to the Super League 🤞
This is a no brainer for all involved. Particularly since the $900k doesn’t come off our cap

So true. Gives him that chance to work on his game but not diminish his standing any further.

How come it wouldn't be on our books? Is it $900k to dissolve the contract? I thought we were willing to chip in $300 over the 3 years
payments to super league clubs don’t come off NRL salary cap
Are you sure that is correct?
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
I’m 90% sure transfer payments are not included in the cap.
