@declan I really think we have to go full throttle to get Crichton over the line. Even if we pay overs. He’s a quality backrower!
Update from the Pom:
The club will officially offer Angus Crichton a 3 year contract this week worth close to $2.2million over the span of the contract, sticking point will be the issue of who will be coach as we are main attraction to him to be back under Madge.
Also Doueihi is being put through his paces today & has an appointment this afternoon with a specialist to be cleared to play this Friday.
Luke Brooks early indication is grade 1 hamstring 2-4 weeks.
The talk of Franklin Pele is new to anyone at the club, his management last informed the club he had better offers elsewhere.
Club also trying to fast track a move for Kade Dykes this week, they want him at the club before the bye round. 2023 terms agreed upon.
That seems like a very competitive offer for Crichton. It also suggests the Board and Sheens may be resolved that Madge is to be our coach for the foreseeable future.
With the Bulldogs about to sack Barrett, should we go all in on Matt burton to play 6 in 2024?
Yeah I like the idea ...do you keep Hastings to play 7 with him ...Burton needs an organizing 7 with him to be successful
Talking of Hastings ..anyone worried about him ...he played like an extremely frustrated footballer yesterday ...even before things got bad

Crichton would be an extremely good pick up ...hope we still have a back up plan if we miss him
I would be ecstatic with Crichton at around 730k a year! I expected that we would have to pay much more!

TBH I expect we would have to...

Maybe that grub in the crowd got to him

You can't let that happen .....you'll have fans from 16 clubs abusing him every kick he takes from the sideline if they know they can get under his skin ....
Angus Crichton is apparently close to signing
As discussed on another forum apparently Douhie might be back this week, if so hope he is fully fit and ready to go otherwise very risky
woukd love Burton for 2024

I agree, but it must have been pretty bad for him to report it on field and in real time, plus for the folks in the crowd who outed the grub who said it.

While in principle I agree, but the abuse was about his family and that is just not on. Sledge the player all you like but leave families out of it. The grub got evicted and hopefully never allowed back again.
Peoples thoughts on Daine Laurie
I just don't see it ...particularly on a consistency basis ...and now injuries are becoming an issue ...he doesn't seem to have say a Hodgson's durability
Yes we need a real quality backrower and a centre .....but fullback has to be a major priority
Do you see Daine Laurie playing 25 Rounds and then winning a premiership in any side .....I say no ...sorry

I do. He’s got all the skills and still pretty young. He does a lot of work off the ball as well. Let’s just be patient.

Thats when you turn around and blow the supporter a big kiss ....you could see Jackson was playing with ants in his pants ...you can't do that as the lead playmaker ..especially when 2 of the other spine go down mid match and then other is out injured ....jackson played his pants off last night ...but you still have to play smart

Sign Madge up for another three years and just get on with it.
