I voted undecided on this. My indecision is due to wondering who will replace Madge? This is a critical moment - if we're going to part ways the new coach must tick all the boxes. And I just don't know if that coach is available right now.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
He has to get one season with his best recruits ...that is only fair ....no finals ...then gut , cut and quarter him
It’s a waste of another year though when we’ve already wasted 4. Imo he has zero chance of getting us to finals next year or any other year. He doesn’t have the ability.

And you bring in someone else and we wait at least 2 seasons to get the squad they want ...and who will come to coach us ...honestly ....

But I don’t think that’s the case. If you believe the squad next year is good, and we upgrade our coach we should have better performance.
I’ve been saying for years that I think Madge is a poor coach and I’ve seen nothing to suggest otherwise. He can’t even manage something as simple as the interchange.
I hope the club sack him this week, I’ve had enough.
With all this noise and constant pressure why would Madge want to stay. Madge should self assess his performance and come to the realisation that this noise is because he hasn’t achieved the results required. Time for him to look for other opportunities.
Saturday night was a genuine step back for the club.
I had a real belief that we could win the game. It's hard to let my personal disappointment from the weekend get in the way but I did vote to move Maguire now.
We'd have to win at least 8 of the remaining games to play finals which is not going to happen with the current squad.
Everything to do with the set up of the roster (with the exception of us still paying Mbye $500k this season) is a Madge decision. There are no more excuses for him.
Recruitment has been a difficult task for Madge throughout his time with us. He doesn't have a high profile manager who can connect him to players. Also the documentary last season showed him in the worst possible light. He looked as though he had great trouble getting his message across which left a really bad impression IMO.
It does seem as though there is more unity in the squad this year however there is still a lack of experience and an overall lack of talent.
Fans are getting excited about Api and Papalii next season but its becoming very very clear that we will need a lot more than that to turn it around in 2023.
My plan for the last part of this season is
- John Morris interim coach.Tell Morris he has 6 games to earn an extension otherwise we'll interview others for the long term role from the first week in August.
- retain assistant coaches noting that both Gardiner and Cayless have been able to put some good systems in place this year (you can see it). Cayless also played with Morris so they know each other
- Tell Newcastle we will swap Klemmer for Brooks immediately (both managed by Moses and on similar contracts)
- Stay well away from Shane Flanagan
If 2022 is a write off I just hope we can learn something in the final 12 games. I cant see us learning anything more with Madge at the helm. He has done all he can

Are you talking next year? 18 months away?
Ive voted and voiced my support for Madge in this thread, but as others have said, the decision is on a sliding scale depending on the potential replacement. We would all vote yes if it was for Bellamy, we'd all vote no if it was for the return of JT.
If Ciraldo knocked on the door.....I'd answer. Cant think of any others right now.

Yeah 5150 ...he finally has the quality players he wanted in 2023 ..he deserves to see if he can turn them into a Top 8 side

Who is an upgrade that will come to coach us ?? ...who isn't thinking "I'll stay until something better comes up " ...

For me it depends on how we finish out the year.

I'd say Yes ...if I survived the fall ...the heart attack and the stroke that ensued if Bellyache agreed to coach us

The year was always going to be ugly mate .....probably the ugliest on record .....I will take this one final hit to my humility ....

I'm a supporter of madge.
What I don't understand from those who want to get rid of him, is who replaces madge that's going to put us in a better position quicker?
Bellamy, Cilardo etc aren't coming to us. It's Flannagan or Green & Co- none of which are going to do better than madge is.
Meanwhile, Sattler in SEN just said that Warriors are watching closely as they may swoop in for Madge. I've also heard others say Bulldogs are interested in Madge.
There's not a huge coaching talent pool for those clubs working from the bottom. We've sacked how many coaches and our issues have never been fixed.
Best to get Madge, Sheens, Pascoe and the Board to not finger point, but all work together and finally pull this club out of this 10 year mess
Top 8 2023

John Morris, Flanagan both upgrades.
