Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised to see
Madge - > Dogs and
Flanno - > WT
Madge would know the writing is on the wall here and Gus has said he wants an experienced coach (Madge and Green really the only two potentially available). Would probably make sense for all parties?
Given the Dogs job seems to have gone quiet (where you would think Gus would want his new man working on 2023) there could be something to it.
You could make the argument that it would be good for Madge, he would have Mahoney and Kikau coming into the side next year.
Gardiner/Kimmorley/Cayless to hold the fort here through the rest of 2022.

If Flanno is who we are going with i'd bring him in right away. The more time he has with the team the better.
@avocadoontoast swap with Madge to Bulldogs
we end up with Flanno I agree bring it in now we don't want Kyle flannagan though
I think we will likely have kimmorley as caretaker for 2022

Foremostly a resounding NO on moral grounds.Secondly, every likelihood we’d lose Jackson Hastings come November, and somewhere down the line end up with son of Flanno.I know Flanno is a proven winner, but winning at all costs when you’re prepared to roll the dice on young mens’ livelihoods and health,as he did,is a major red flag for my way of thinking.NO TO FLANNO!

I used to be in complete agreement with you but after 3.5 years of misery I want to start winning again. I think there is zero chance we'd see him go for the peptides again, and he's the best coach available.

Understand your pain Avo,feeling it too.
I voted undecided, I would normally vote sack Madge but I don’t think sacking him will fix all of our problems. If they do sack Madge we need to appoint a coach straightaway someone who can bring young players thru.
If we had of stuck to the game plan in the 2nd half we wouldn't be having this conversation. I think we need to stick but Sheen's has had time for a decent look at how the footy department is performing holistically (on field, coaching, recruitment, development) so my faith is with him.
Quotes from Rothfield today (Fox Sports)
“He’s under enormous pressure Madge and it was a really, really disappointing second half they were just blown off the football park against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on the weekend,” Rothfield said on Big Sports Breakfast.
“You look at their record under Madge they’ve gone ninth his first year, eleventh his second, thirteenth and now they’re running fifteenth on the ladder.
“I got a call out of the blue from Tim Sheens who was speaking on behalf of the club. I kept putting it to Sheensy, he was talking a lot, I kept saying ‘look can you guarantee Madge’s job is safe?’ And he wouldn’t.
“I think the club has reached a stage of no return with Madge and I would not at all be surprised if he’s coached his last game.

Seems like there could be change in the wind. Sheens and Rothfield go back decades and generally he recites pretty accurately what Sheens says.
I’m still only 50/50 though on if it happens.

I think it's 95% chance he's gone. Sheens is a pro with media stuff. If he's not backing him publicly, it's intentional. I wouldn't be surprised if the next coach is already signed up...
Only the Wests Tigers could begin a review into coach Michael Maguire and the football department six months after having completed the all-encompassing, much-hyped, no-stone-unturned internal review of last year.
In all seriousness, how much more paper shuffling and going around in circles is there to do?
The Tigers are once-again at the crossroads where they need to simply make a decision – either back Maguire as their head coach for the rest of this season and next year until the end of his current contract or get rid of him.
The toughest part for Maguire in all of this is being an NRL head coach is a results based business and the scoreboard since he’s been in charge at the Wests Tigers has been getting progressively worse.
Maguire has won 11 out of 36 games dating back to the beginning of 2021 and during his four year tenure at the club the Tigers have finished 9th, 11th, 13th and at the halfway mark of 2022 they’re currently sitting 15th.
In Madge’s four years at Concord he’s won 29 games out of 80.
Sure the club has players playing busted at the moment and have been without Adam Doueihi, Tommy Talau and Shawn Blore for the opening half of this season but when you strip it all back is the club really headed in the right direction?
What players have improved? Has the style of football they’re playing evolved?
On the recruitment front are they signing the right players?
These are the questions director of football Tim Sheens has been brought in to find the answers for.
Sheens knows all about life in the hot seat as an NRL head coach having been involved at all levels of rugby league for six decades.
The only hope for Tigers members and supporters now is whatever decision the Tigers come up with, Sheens will get it right.
The Tigers board are often criticised for some of the shambolic decisions the club has come up with over the past decade but in this instance they’ve got one right.
Sheens knows what success looks like and how to set up an infrastructure from within to achieve it.
Whether Maguire remains a part of that is the million dollar question right now.

Well done Wests Tigers board. You’ve created yet another circus for us fans to be proud of. If Madge gets punted this week (highly likely) it’s a disgrace. Not because I like Madge but because if the board was so unsure of Madge they should have pulled the pin end last year rather than create another mid season disruption.

The only benefit of the doubt I give them is Sheens may have asked for a stay of execution and now may have enough information.

Yeah that’s a pretty valid point actually
