@mike After 3.5 seasons Maguire has no runs on the board as far as the Tigers are concerned . Each of those seasons the team has finished in a worse position this season 3 from 12 .
If Maguire was being judged by results there would be no need for a board meeting … he has failed as the coach of this club . No matter who could be selected as coach proven or rookie there is no guarantee they will succeed  we have all seen this it’s the luck of the draw .. do your due diligence and hope for the best .

Heaps of runs on the board at the Wests Tigers. Changing the culture is not insignificant. Not accepting bad behaviour. This is no longer a place where you can come and bludge your way through. Lots of player development. Good signings. The Salary Cap finally under control. The future is bright and it’s because of Madge. Success on the field will happen as a result.

The majority of the players are on board but we still have a couple of dissenters that are trying to wait the coach out. Sack Madge and they succeed and we are back to square one.

Madge deserves to see his contract to completion.

The main problems Wests Tigers currently have are outside the coaching staff and sit with the Board, the chairman in particular, and Management. Noffa’s last contract being an prime example. Not justified and the playing group know it.

Well said

I've said before, it's my belief Madge tried to take the team he inherited forward. Was 1 game off the finals his first year. The next year he used the anti  making players accountable, but it exposed the bad culture, particularly among the senior players resulting in eggshells.

From that point, we've essentially started a rebuild, making short term sacrifices for long term benefit. We've gone from the eldest squad to the youngest squad.

We had no leadership last year, no we have Jacko, Joffa Tamou and soon AD stepping up a vocal leaders. With Api and Papali'i joining then next year and scope for 1 or 2 more great signings.

I believe we've literally turning the corner and on our way up.  I think madge should see our this and next year, to see through his changes and we can assess then.

We have had an upturn, but it is still a very small upturn and 3 and a half years in.

As I said, I believe we are currently turning the corner now. Which literally means it's the start of the upturn.

And as I said I don't think we've started this rebuild until the end of year 2 of madges term (I.e after eggshell gate) where we saw all the senior leaders leave.

Which means we are 1 1/2 years into the rebuild and already starting to see results

@mike I actually think that the Tigers management is quite stable. They’ve given Madge 4 years to prove himself which is a lot more than other coaches have gotten from other clubs.

Yeah but Madge has a strong personality and runs on the board. He knows what is required. A rookie will be fodder for the different personalities within the Board and Management.

I would agree with you if Sheens wasn't there. But ultimately he's the one that will deal with management and the board. It's actually a good set up for a rookie coaching coming in.

Agree, the current setup with a football director is a good one. If only the club had the foresight and resources to do this four years ago. The way the game is these days the coach has too much to do.

I remember Paul Kent saying Madge had to do too many roles as across the club and could spend a s much time coaching as coaches at more professional clubs do. He also implied that Hartigan wasn't senior enough to gain the respect needed to be GM of football.

I have no idea if it's true or not

The marginal upturn is due to Hastings. Take him out of the side and we are not improved at all.

I too thought we were on the improve, but after the showing against Souths I’m not so sure. I genuinely thought we were a chance but made Souths look good.

There have been plenty of false dawns before, the progress needs to continue and there have been worrying signs in the last 2 weeks.

I don't know, but the guy you spoke about said Top 30 players have been interviewed. They have been on leave so I doubt that has happened.

Edit, Apparently the team trained today.

As I have said, i wouldn't sack him right now unless it was to get Ciraldo.

These results you speak of? 3 wins from 12 games?
