I wonder if we hear something today? You would think either way a press release has to come out today, Monday is leaving things a bit late I would think.

I’m expecting a release saying business as usual, review has found we need to invest in another forward, something like that.

Logically one would think he's gone. But my concern is this is WT, and they rarely make the right decision.

Maybe that’s why they are a bit gun shy to make a decision here - worried about making another stuff up so avoiding a decision?

I’d be more than a tad gun shy if it means the Dolphins or whichever club offers a massive contract to Jackson Hastings,or how it might affect the signatures of Api K and Papali’i.Potentially the whole house of cards can come tumbling down. Can we really afford to start another rebuild, because that is in essence what you’re creating when you replace your coach.I think it would be somewhat unrealistic to expect a seamless transition if Madge does get terminated.

I think there's been a bit of paranoia around everyone leaving if Madge isn't the coach. Can you remember a time where a player has backed out of their contract because there has been a change in coach?

Furthermore if we got Ciraldo, why on Earth would these players not want to play for one of the most highly touted young coaches in the game? Api would already have a relationship with him now given he's assistant coach at Penrith. Hastings has another year left on his contract.

Let's all calm down - no players are backing out or going elsewhere.

I’m as calm as you like @Avo and not feeling paranoia.I’m just presenting potential outcomes.Cause and effect.Unlike you,I believe that Madge should see out his tenure. You’re well entitled to your opinion,it just doesn’t happen to coincide with mine.

I don’t see how you can confidently predict what happens if Madge goes. There is an array of possibilities and amongst those is the fact that Jackson Hastings is free to negotiate this November. How can you be certain he’s not going anywhere?

Hastings has been a revelation for us,and it would be a travesty to lose him at the height of his powers, especially after all the dramas surrounding the WTs No.7.There is every possibility he could walk if Madge is Basil Brushed. How would you feel about that, even though he has another year to run?

r/CryptoCurrency - I'M PERFECTLY CALM, DUDE. CALMER THAN YOU ARE.

Any excuse to post this........

Purely only IMO, but all the hand wringing about the way the Tigers have handled this with the announcement of the review etc, to me it feels like they had this review penciled in for the bye round, roughly half way through the year, since the draw was announced. To my the most likely scenario is in the year end review they said, lets review progress half wa y through next year, they've send the draw and said "bye week" and here we are.

IMO they are just as likely to say "Disappointing start to the season, a stack of important injuries, ....play on".

Heaps of runs on the board at the Wests Tigers. Changing the culture is not insignificant. Not accepting bad behaviour. This is no longer a place where you can come and bludge your way through. Lots of player development. Good signings. The Salary Cap finally under control. The future is bright and it’s because of Madge. Success on the field will happen as a result.

The majority of the players are on board but we still have a couple of dissenters that are trying to wait the coach out. Sack Madge and they succeed and we are back to square one.

Madge deserves to see his contract to completion.

The main problems Wests Tigers currently have are outside the coaching staff and sit with the Board, the chairman in particular, and Management. Noffa’s last contract being an prime example. Not justified and the playing group know it.

Well said

I've said before, it's my belief Madge tried to take the team he inherited forward. Was 1 game off the finals his first year. The next year he used the anti  making players accountable, but it exposed the bad culture, particularly among the senior players resulting in eggshells.

From that point, we've essentially started a rebuild, making short term sacrifices for long term benefit. We've gone from the eldest squad to the youngest squad.

We had no leadership last year, no we have Jacko, Joffa Tamou and soon AD stepping up a vocal leaders. With Api and Papali'i joining then next year and scope for 1 or 2 more great signings.

I believe we've literally turning the corner and on our way up.  I think madge should see our this and next year, to see through his changes and we can assess then.

The marginal upturn is due to Hastings. Take him out of the side and we are not improved at all.

@mike I actually think that the Tigers management is quite stable. They’ve given Madge 4 years to prove himself which is a lot more than other coaches have gotten from other clubs.

Yeah but Madge has a strong personality and runs on the board. He knows what is required. A rookie will be fodder for the different personalities within the Board and Management.

I would agree with you if Sheens wasn't there. But ultimately he's the one that will deal with management and the board. It's actually a good set up for a rookie coaching coming in.

Agree, the current setup with a football director is a good one. If only the club had the foresight and resources to do this four years ago. The way the game is these days the coach has too much to do.
