@tiger5150 Trust me a new coach will get a huge rise out of this bunch ! This is not that bad a roster ..

If they appointed a new coach now - they'd look like like a genius- as from this week on we have almost our full squad available for the first time this year.

Mind you if they stick with madge, he'll also look like a genius.

It always helps to have your best players in your team

Our strongest team of the year was on Saturday and we got absolutely creamed.

I didn't realise the AD, Twal, Nofa and Talau were playing.

Was our strongest team of the year and we conceded 44 points. Souths were missing Latrell Mitchell.

Straight facts.

Cherry picked facts, ignoring others. But we get you don’t like Madge.

I've got nothing against him personally, he just can't coach.

I accept that’s your opinion.

As was mentioned by another poster, if Ciraldo wants a Head Coach position, it won't be at a top 8 Club.

Those Clubs are going well and probably not about to change Coaches.

He would therefore be looking at a bottom 8 Club to get a starting position at.

When Madge was appointed I had high hopes for us moving forward, but after 4 years of not making the 8, I am losing faith in him.

If we were to change Coaches, then mid Season is the best time to appoint a new Coach, with a Caretaker Coach to finish the '22 Season and thereby giving an incoming Coach, time to put a '23 roster together, ie as the Sharks did last year.

If you do it at Season end, then you will be well behind the 8 ball leading into the '23 Season.....

Just my thoughts...

I believe for all the negatives and the depleted roster,I can objectively say there has been considerable improvement in our play. For mine there is still a lot to look forward to as this season progresses, finals or no finals. All you pundits out there ask yourself realistically where you believed we’d finish this year? That includes the podcast panel. My recollections are that most weren’t too excited about our prospects.

I still maintain that it would be absolute folly to dispense with Madge now,and I believe it’s only this year that you can say  that this is Madge’s team.Cleary’s salary cap handiwork completely screwed us,and then he scuttled off.We were paying 3 or 4 players marquis money who barely raised a whimper. We’re still paying for Moses Mbye! You just cannot do that to your cap without ongoing negative repercussions and they were a major contributor to our fortunes.

With the sacking of the coach, comes the the new coach with all his new personnel.Do we want to lose our assistant coaches as well? There is also the loyalty to Madge factor amongst our players and how that impacts upon them and their future allegiances to Wests Tigers.I believe that is potentially the biggest destabilising threat going forward.I think we’ve come too far down this path to suddenly about face.

I agree with what Tiger Steve stated, being to allow Madge to fulfill his contract. After that see where we are and do as you will.

I’m thinking the most likely course of events in coming days - we hear nothing and then there’s an interview or release saying we will reassess things at the end of the year.

I don't think so.  No way they'd publicly do a review 6 months later and he keeps his job. Add to that Sheens and Chairman Lee no longer backing him publicly and I think it's curtains.

I voted ‘on your bike’ Madge.

Not innovative and creative enough as a coach to take this team to the next level.

Simple as that.

I think in all likelihood that @helmesy is right.

I agree. He appears to be the polar opposite to Sheens ie different strategies/tactics for different situations. Madge just seems to be go out there and bash them, I just don’t think that works today.

If so i'll definitely be clocking out for the rest of the year. I can't watch Madgeball any more.

I want to keep Madge but if he were to get the flick then Ciraldo would be my first choice. BUT come on guys, this feels like the typical NRL tabloid media schtick. The rumours start, usually as a suggestion. Then build and build from 360 to forums to Channel 9 to Sporting News and back around again.

All baseless crap building off of each other and then just when everyone is convinced....Ciraldo says he was never interested and it is all "The tigers missed another one, what a mess!"

End of the year Madge is sacked and we get Paul Green

Avo's POV logically makes the most sense.......Helmesy's POV is the most Tigers.....

Baseless other than Sheens saying that they were initiating a review
