Should I become a WT member again?

I decided to let my Wests Tigers membership lapse last off-season.

I did this out of frustration with a few issues with the club and to try and lodge a protest vote.

So, with some (not all) of these issues corrected, I’m starting to think about whether I should get back on board.

What do you guys think, get back with the program or stay on the sidelines?

Are you renewing regardless? Or feeling frustrated like me and stepping away?

Is now the time to back Sheens, Marshall and Farah regardless of the other issues?

I value your thoughts and opinions.

Do it Joel, support the club you love. You haven’t jumped ship yet have you, you’re not an Eels fan or, still worse in my book, a Roosters fan?
Let’s show all other clubs that despite our poor record we’re the best supporters in this comp’. There’s strength in unity. You’re a Tiger Joel, a Tiger. We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall…..Sorry, lost it there for a moment. Just sign up Joel, I’ll shout you cuppa at the cafe at the Centre of Excellence if you do.

Should add an undecided option.

I’ve canceled my auto renew. But I know I will probably renew at the last minute..

Though I really have to consider do I really want to go and watch Rugby League at sub-standard grounds any more when I get a better experience on my 65” flat screen, good sound system and on a comfy lounge with good food delivered to my door. The answer is slowly tipping towards the watching on TV.

The Ambush events lean towards going… it’s a conundrum…

When the club plays out of a modern stadium that supplies everything a supporter wants for a game day experience we will have 12 to 14 premium season memberships until then ZIP! Was going to Re new for next season but only 3 games at Commbank not worth the effort . We will be giving our money to rival clubs as away supporters to attend top class stadiums again our club has 5 home grounds we are over it !

I only get one of the cheaper ones ($120 I think) because I can't get to many games, I want to be a member when we are at the bottom and when we are at the top. Mostly, I think that the last thing this club needs is to be at the bottom of the membership number list.

Could force a change of management though at the Chairman & CEO level. I think that is something we do need.

The club has made a big call on the new coaching structure. And they’ve obviously pushed the pathways model as key for us to become a successful club. It sees to me anyway that we have some direction now, certainly for the next 5 years we know what we want as a club. An academy seems a must & has been talked about but not sure how far down the line the actual planning process is. But I think we all just need to be on board with this because where do we go if we don’t? Will probably be some bumps along the way but an immediate turn around in our fortunes in his hardly likely. But let’s all get on board & see what the next few years brings us.

I’m leaving Sydney (tomorrow lol) so won’t be renewing as a ticketed member but will do out of town membership. Will miss attending home games heaps - especially due to the friendships formed over the past couple of years. I’ll stay involved with the Ambush somehow.
Im so frustrated with our lack of success but like anything in life, support is most needed when you’re down. So my support will continue at some level

Exactly, Steve has played a huge role in the growth of this community and done so much for this club. It is 2022, so distance isn't a massive hinderance to being involved. The Pod, this forum and the Ambush are all things that we can use to grow our Wests Tigers community across the state. Hey there are people listening to and engaging with the Pod from Wales and Italy etc. Byron is practically nest door to LO in comparison. Maybe we should all meet up for magic round next year, An Ambush Event in Brisbane, with a live Pod sounds good. We could even do the Tamworth game.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

As much as I sling (deserved) mud at the club, I haven't lapsed my membership yet and probably never will. I find it hard to get to as many games these days for various reasons, but I just feel like I have to navigate the down times to properly enjoy the up times (should they ever eventuate).

By the same token, I absolutely don't begrudge anyone giving up. I have had plenty of friends and family do the same, and it's essentially what the club deserves.
