I'm going to stick up for Benji
I've been really impressed with his attitude and what he says. He's made some huge calls - like debuting Galvin first game of the season. And 10 debuts for the year.
What he said tonight was impressive too.
But 3 points:
- he desperately needs help with some more experienced assistant coaches.
- he desperately needs 3-4 higher quality experienced players to work with. (Accounting for Laui coming next year)
- I think an experienced football manager would also help.

Zero interest in Arthur or any of those recycled coaches - yesterday's men. Would rather Hannay or Dean Young if we had to look elsewhere (which we won't).
I think Benji (and co) is definitely an issue, but it's far from the biggest issue at the club. The squad is garbage, and the depth underneath is even worse. The development and recruitment has been laughable for a long time, and it's going to take a long time for any changes in that space to be felt at the top level.
His attitude is fine but he has no idea how to coach. Wooden spooners don’t have coaches with zero coaching experience. If he isn’t moved on before next season the club is completely doomed. He should be sacked tomorrowI'm going to stick up for Benji

An experienced coach is the only way to turn us around. Any rookie coach would crash and fail like Benji hasZero interest in Arthur or any of those recycled coaches - yesterday's men. Would rather Hannay or Dean Young if we had to look elsewhere (which we won't).

@frullens Marshall has proven he is not a head coach there is no masking this . The team looks totally uncoached they possess no attributes that a team needs to compete nothing they are a rabble !
@yanni Cleary is a terrific coach but abandoned us. I made my views about Madge very clear.. Arthur I rate as a far superior coach to Madge, is excellent at developing young players and commands respect. It would be crazy for us to not go after him immediately imo.
@yanni You just have to get the right one as yet this has eluded the club but it will come !

The two I mentioned are very experienced in the modern game, despite never holding a head coach role.
Our last coach was one of the most experienced in history and he was hopeless, worse than the current rookie.
Arthur's style of football is a bit one dimensional imo - I think he really underachieved with that Eels squad over the years.
The game is moving and evolving quickly, we need to build a team and club that is going to succeed tomorrow, not chase yesterday's success.
Only way it happens is if Benji quits. Never going to happen
Let's just keep sacking coaches......
We have made the finals 3 times in 25 years.
The issue isn't the coach - it's the club as a whole.
Richo is here and fixing the club.
He won't sack Benji - I can guarantee that
But I hope that if he recognises Benji needs help, he will get the help he needs
I'm yipping that the squad and coaching support staff won't look the same come preseason

@dirty-reds I’m not saying they won’t be good coaches, I’m just saying that where we are it would be coaching suicide for a rookie coach. We need someone who has been at the bottom and can make the hard decisions and implement systems to turn us around. In a few years one of those guys will be great, but now someone like Arthur would be excellent imo.
Why do we need to prop up a coach who is out of his depth, when we can just replace him with someone who knows how to actually coach? Why would someone more accomplished than Benji work as his assistant?Let's just keep sacking coaches......

Snake and Avo you both might be correct in what you say. At this point it’s very hard to see anything changing what little hope I had is just about gone after 60 years of being a tigers supporter I’m starting to think it’s about time to give it away
