I think given arguably our two most direct competitors are this years grand finalists it is worth examining what they are doing right, and what we aren’t.
This is both on field and off.
To compare and contrast.
Both have aggressive and effective wrecking balls in the front row.
They have backrowers that are good defensively, and can be creative in attack.
They have halfbacks that have a good kicking game and organisational skills (did I just give Moses a pay on the back?).
Five-eights that possess speed.
Penrith probably have a better backline, but they both have quality fullbacks.
Off the field:
One home ground with a mostly defined local area across a wider western Sydney footprint.
Effective pathways (particularly Penrith).
Good to great community engagement (hats off to Penrith especially here).
What else can we learn from these clubs? Where are we consistently failing?

You could also say that they drive engagement through having a leagues club close to their home ground.

And they both have been fairly ruthless when it comes to getting what they want in recent years ie Matterson, Moses and Cleary.

Is there any chance they can both lose the GF?
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Is there any chance they can both lose the GF?
Best we can hope for is a draw. I think that forces a replay.
Both clubs have had a total of 5 wooden spoons going back 20 years, history shows we are on track …I’m trying to stay positive 😂
Not sure where to post but Penrith winning all 3 grades
The only club to win the same three competitions in the same season in the 57 years since all competitions have been running together (NSW Cup 1908; Jersey Flegg Cup 1961; SG Ball Cup 1965) is Balmain Tigers in 1982.
if Penrith win GF they win 4 grades
