Didn’t someone on here post that the club pretty much confirmed the $1.1m for brooks was correct?

Lets start a thread when we score how often the NRL 360 are wrong and how often they are right .....maybe someone who then follows them facebook or instagram delivers them their percentages ..when they drop to below 40 % remind them that is worse than our clubs winning record and maybe it is time to shut the hell up .....

The club has had ample opportunity to deny the figures widely quoted either publicly or privately and have chose not to do so.

I think the $1.1M for next year is accurate.

This is the biggest thing the club has stuffed up I reckon. Whoever resigned him on this coin should not have a job imo. Who’s the culprit honestly?

Was one of Madge's first moves after being appointed coach I believe..

@celtic_tiger why should they deny it

clubs don't talk salaries of players like that

that is as silly as making a club statement that ciraldo has rejected us... oh wait

he is not on 1.1 million it is made up, more like 900k to 950k.

@jedi-tiger the figure was widely quoted in the media, the club could have simply said that claims regarding WT players salaries were inaccurate without mentioning any players names or actual figures.

They could also have done this in private to a variety of audiences, it's not as of we don't leak stuff when it suits us

They did neither and this points to the figure being accurate, believe me I wish it wasn't.

How do you know it's $950k and not $1.1m?

@avocadoontoast because 2 weeks ago it was 1.3 million and April 2022 it was 1 million before that 950k

No way at start of the year Newcastle would have entertained Brooks on 1.1 million

the goalposts move all the time

you wait when he moves in 2024 it will be wests tigers have 900k in the cap to spend not the reported 1.1 million

Yeah but you're just speculating. Apparently it's been put to the club numerous times and they haven't denied it once. If he is on >$1m (and I believe that he is) then he's probably the most overpaid player in the NRL. Even at $900k he's up there. Realistically I think his true value is around $350-400k. Noone will pay more than that for his next contract.

I would be ok with him at around the $600k mark but that was about what his rookie contract was valued at.

In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)

AD will not want peanuts either for his next contract, he probably is looking at North of 700k or 750k

Brooks would be worth 700k Max I think

Similar money to Burton - as much as I like AD I know which I'd prefer.

It’s not a choice

Burton is not coming here.

AD is already here and in all likelihood would have been named club captain this year if he hadn’t been injured and always gives 100% for the jersey.

I can’t for the life of me understand people wanting him chased out the club.
