Was good to get more context on the stadium situation - positive developments with both suburban grounds, but both are a long way off where they need to be, hence the short leash.

The playing side of things are a bit less clear. He talks a good game, but we've been hearing the same things for over a decade now, and not much has changed. We've had CEOs bullish on kids going back to Grant Mayer telling us about Grand Finals in 2016. We've had lots and lots of players at all stages of their careers walk out on us for greener pastures. We've had the next best thing waiting in the wings umpteen times, only for them to leave or simply not develop as hoped. Too many promises and too many times we've been let down.

The squad is so far off where it needs to be in terms of competitiveness, depth and experience that it's hard to be even remotely positive for the future.

Yes the stadium explanation was handy, helps get a better idea around why that strategy was adopted and the pieces that are moving over the next couple of years.

Re players, what you say is true, but we have to hold onto a bit of hope that the 25 side has a couple of players we don’t yet know about.

I agree, but I think we need a lot more than three players.

We've got a scary amount of green, untested kids in the top 30 this year, and it gets even worse next year.

We desperately need more structural change at the club, but what has happened with the board progress? I thought we were supposed to be finalising the new members by now?

Anyway, once they're in situ - their first gig should be approving the extra spend on an experienced football manager. I've got faith in Richo to get things going in the right direction, but there's so much change needed across all grades.

Coates is retiring from AOC tomorrow. Hopefully he moves onto Tigers board

I don't think there is any chance of that happening.

The remaining board spots are a bit of a concern - they should have been sorted a while back given the initial timeline.

@dirty-reds This is why the club is where it’s at .. I have no confidence that the club will be around in a few years and I get the feeling the HBG are looking at that option if they were serious the board would be filled and moving forward to the future . It’s like watching a prized vine wither and die slowly!

I don't want to fly off the handle too early as this is light on detail, but let's just say the handle is nearby and I'm preparing my wings.

This club just cannot help itself

Does anyone know what’s going on with this his situation.. Looks like the ones that drove the club into the ground are now stalling and moving into areas that they agreed to change ! Empire building and self importance … Burgess seems like a real nuffie TBH!

To me, it's becoming more clear that the NRL need to step in and suspend/eject WT from the NRL on corporate governance issues. A "comprehensive" independent review has taken place on the demands of its fan/member base. Recommendations aimed at the longer term success and viability of WT were made.

Yet, according to the article, the HBG are baulking and obstructing those changes from happening.

If true, it is a shocking indictment of the value and place of members/fans in this organisation.

We are currently trying to get someone from the Holman Barnes Group to come on the pod and discuss.
