Yeah I noticed that too. An embarrassing organisation top to bottom.Wow....management waiting until during the game to send out members email that Bateman has gone. Classy guys.
Im defending the club re Bateman. The final sentence of the press release suggests they haven't worked out what will happen to him next year. If they keep negotiating for him to ultimately not come back, that is a good thing in my view. Very hard to move him given the size and length of contract but worth a try!
I can't see how Bateman comes back. The commentary around Burgess looking at this for the last 6 weeks is the intriguing bit....way before his supposed locker room blow up.
If the rumour about Bateman ending up at Souths next year is true then (conspiracy theory warning) could it be possible that Burgess is the middle man in a negotiated move between Richardson and Bennet and just baby sitting him for a few weeks helping to cut the cord from the Tigers and putting some new context around him wanting to leave.

@tgrzmn As long as Souths take him full freight .. baby sit him as long as they want !
Interesting points made by Richo on the Tigers podcast .
Did not seem real confident that Darcy and his council mates will do the right thing with that money Re Leichhardt oval .
Campbelltown Stadium to get a northern grandstand money already there increasing capacity to 18k probably incorporating the CEO.
New signings coming , pretty good over view doesn’t look real happy with things , admitted offering Stephano to much .Trying to spin next season looking at top 8 , but would of thought about winning a bit more consistently first but I suppose he has to project positivity. The Bateman thing was explained .. pretty good explanation about the Stadium strategy even though I do not agree some info I suppose .
most interesting quote was "we need a middle and I know what else we need but I'm not going to say it because we are close to fixing that" does that mean we have a To'o or Holmes inbound? kept referencing $2m to be spent on 3 players...thats close to $700k each so potentially 3 top line players.Interesting points made by Richo on the Tigers podcast .

I didnt like that he said 'we offered too much to Stefano.'
That offer was made by him so it doesnt say much for his talent ID / cap management skills.

He did say at the time we were offering him more due to the ridiculous clauses in his contract.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
I'm feeling that Richardson is another Sheens; plucked from obscurity and relying on former glories. I fear he is heading in the direction of being more problem than solution. The club is becoming more farcical by the day.
His last gig was not that long ago and he was footy manager at souths till 2020, left to set up the player management company with his son before he joined the Tigers, so unlike Sheens has been consistently involved in the NRL. Sheens had not coached in the NRL for a number of years before the geniuses in the previous management gave him the head coaching gig.I'm feeling that Richardson is another Sheens; plucked from obscurity and relying on former glories. Was good to get more context on the stadium situation - positive developments with both suburban grounds, but both are a long way off where they need to be, hence the short leash.
The playing side of things are a bit less clear. He talks a good game, but we've been hearing the same things for over a decade now, and not much has changed. We've had CEOs bullish on kids going back to Grant Mayer telling us about Grand Finals in 2016. We've had lots and lots of players at all stages of their careers walk out on us for greener pastures. We've had the next best thing waiting in the wings umpteen times, only for them to leave or simply not develop as hoped. Too many promises and too many times we've been let down.
The squad is so far off where it needs to be in terms of competitiveness, depth and experience that it's hard to be even remotely positive for the future.
