Pascoe - I was hamstrung by a meddling board that wanted to make all the decisions.

Next minute - the club is in a great position, primed for success.

To be fair he was talking about what he has been up to and using that time this year to spend it with his kids.

Fair enough. Context definitely helps with that one.

The owner of the San Francisco 49ers, Al Guido, has expressed interest in buying an NRL franchise following the Las Vegas double-header which attracted more than 40,000 fans to Allegiant Stadium.

Guido, whose team made this year’s Super Bowl, has had an international focus as 49ers owner and has bought a share of English football club Leeds United so he knows the value of looking beyond the United States borders.

He addressed the ARL Commission and club executives during a conference at Las Vegas and he thinks private equity firms would also be keen to buy into the NRL franchises.

Do we put up the ‘For Sale’ sign??

Im pretty wary of it. The flip side of the money that it would bring is that the new owner could sell/fold/relocate us on a whim.

I know, but the $s would be amazing.

Richo has said the club should be able to stand on its on 2 feet and not rely on funding from owner.

Opportunity is to get the brains and connections at board level without selling.

Only - thing I'd consider - is after watching the Vegas games - I think it's time all clubs move out of suburban grounds - unless they are top notch 25k boutique stadiums.

How do we find a significant upgrade to CS in starting asap?

Do we get NRL/State support?

Can the Ashfield and Campbeltown leagues clubs fund directly?

Do we sell part of club?

I'm not really interested in private ownership

So, do you think the current setup is working?

I think the changes occurring now are the best chance at setting the club up for the future. Getting some overseas owner is not a road to success for me.

I would welcome some heavy hitters to buying in a la Souths, but not sure a random rich American/foreign owner is a pathway to success (unless they're going to build us a stadium - which strikes me as incredibly unlikely).

I posted a few years ago when I was working for a company they had the plans and fit out drawn up for a retractable roof

Difference here is this would be a permanent roof apparently

Yeah the sports minister said it would be permanent

But the Vegas stadium has the ability to roll out the grass field to get direct sun.

Would there be an issue with a permanent roof and grass?
