Hmmm, so the Barnier guy is not being paid? That's a worry. I assume he's heading this "review" in his spare time from roles that he IS paid for. I fear an outcome similar to the $675K role of Barnyard Joyce as Drought Envoy; a report sent by text message to Scummo that nobody has ever seen. And, politely and compliantly on we go, hoping for better.

Anyone I have spoken to who have been involved in the review have had nothing but positive comments about the process and the people involved in conducting the review.

Based on that quote from Tony Crawford, they have already briefed HBG.

Weird thing he says they also brief Wests Magpies and Balmain, but doesn't mention Wests Tigers Board.

They are the owners whereas the board are the employees so makes sense

Decisions have to be made by HBG, Wests Magpies and Balmain if there is going to be structural reform at board level of the Wests Tigers.

I await the outcome. I'll judge it on its merits, not my suspicions.

@garry

That's true, but from a procedural perspective, the actual decisions that affect he WT would still need physcially occur within the WT board room?

Even if it's been discussed and agreed externally by the majority owners of HBG, WM and BT boards.

I'm not sure but I would think the owners would be the ones to make the changes to board structure and constitution of the club.

but if the review is indicating there is an issue with how the board is operating this is an issue to be addressed by the people who appoint the board and not the board themselves

WA majority owners, but don't own 100% of the club. The board room split is meant to represent the ownership structure.

While WA board may resolve to take an approach in regards to WT, they can't inact that until they use their majority costs members in the WT board to move and vote for it.

Wouldn't that be why the review team would be presenting to the Wests Magpies and Balmain, the other owners? Surely it would be the owner who have to decide to change the structure or the club at governance level and not the Wests Tigers board?

@tiger5150 would be great to have him but waiting another year probably doesn’t work for us.

The article suggests that he does.
