Seriously, it won’t matter who we get. We could have a team of Bennett, Bellamy and Robinson and whilst the fools running the show keep interfering, changing focus and causing friction we will go nowhere

The problem is winners won’t come here because of them.

It's true, but also, even if the best administrators arrived now, they still have to deal with a poor roster with a lot of very poor to average players on long term deals. Poor decisions, particularly recently, have set us back years.Seriously, it won’t matter who we get. We’ve gone over a cliff since Lee arrived, absolute disaster under his watch.

that’s what happens when the sole motivation is self indulgent, selfish gain
Is Eddie Jones the Tim Sheens of ARU? Or vice versa? Basic common sense would say that those who appointed them should now be unemployed in professional sport.
This talk of Lee/Pascoe chasing Cheika has me confused.....
We stated we put the search for GM on good pending review.......
Has the review been finalised?
Had the board changed their mind?
Do Pascoe and Lee just act without board authority?
Did the board misled us, and GM search was simply on hold pending end of Rugby WC?
Unless the review is fully complete. The board fully endorse and implement the findings. Then I don't have faith in any appointment of this current admin.

Would be poor practice to not at least investigate it. Talk to him, work out his thoughts and requirements. Would hate to miss an opportunity because of the review.
@frullens all good questions but there is no clear answer. The outcome of the review will be to tell us nothing. If you are Barnier & Crawford think about their process. What do they stand to gain from being critical of the very people who are paying them to complete the review?
OPTION 1 - (come down with an iron first and relay the feedback from the 50+ people interviewed) 'Its our assessment that the club is plagued by governance issues and the first step to rectifying them is for new blood at board level. We recommend that the changes be implemented on or before the Wests Ashfield elections in march 2024. We also attach our invoice for services. Please pay within 28 days"
OPTION 2 (say something without saying anything) - "It's important that the Wests Tigers preserve the NRL's intended guidelines in regards to board structure as a condition of the NRL license. This is the makeup as prescribed by the NRL
Wests Ashfield 4 seats
Balmain 1 seat
Wests Campbelltown 1 seat
Independent directors 1 seat"
The NRL is mandating at least 2 female board members from 1 January 2024.
We also attach our invoice, please pay within 28 days"
My point is that Crawford & Bernier are not going to advocate that Wests Ashfield cede control or turf out the old stagers because these are the same old stagers who have appointed them.
Might I add that Tony Andreacchio was quoted in the SMH earlier this month to the effect of "we have always interefered in previous reviews." To think that would not happen again here is naive. The only way for any material change to happen this summer is for Lee H to somehow find a way to spear the Wests Ashfield crew or (the more likely outcome), Wests Ashfield find a way to spear Hagipantelis to save themselves.
The board changes will happen to the side of the review and not in response to it.
Just my 2 cents.

I think you will be surprised.
Firstly Gary Barnier is not being paid to conduct the review and after having met with him I have 100% confidence that they are going to provide a review and recommendations that are thorough, comprehensive, honest and contain information that the club and the Holman Barnes Group don't want to hear.
The question will be is the Holman Barnes Group willing to act on the outcome of the review.
In memory of Geoff Chisholm (1965-2022)
Was there an anticipated time line for completion of the review?

I would think the findings would be very close to being presented to the Holman Barnes Group but would expect it could be another month before there is any announcements.

Hmmm, so the Barnier guy is not being paid? That's a worry. I assume he's heading this "review" in his spare time from roles that he IS paid for. I fear an outcome similar to the $675K role of Barnyard Joyce as Drought Envoy; a report sent by text message to Scummo that nobody has ever seen. And, politely and compliantly on we go, hoping for better.

The Wests Ashfield-commissioned report, prepared by former NRL chief financial officer Tony Crawford and businessman Gary Barnier, is near completion, with Crawford saying: “We took the board of Wests Ashfield through the process, explaining our thinking, and will then move to other key stakeholders, such as Balmain and Wests Magpies. The final report should be completed inside a month.”

Based on that quote from Tony Crawford, they have already briefed HBG.
Weird thing he says they also brief Wests Magpies and Balmain, but doesn't mention Wests Tigers Board.
