He must be a complete ego maniac. Given you are the WT chairman, surely someone else from Brydens could tend to these types of deals with other clubs?

@garry what are the dates of all these announcements. Surely even he can see it’s not the best optics especially since he is the self proclaimed mouth piece for the club.

You’d hope after the first instance someone from the club would have a quiet word. I get it’s his business and have no issues with them sponsoring other clubs but what would he need his name all over it.

They are all during his time as Chair, some are this year. There are many more before he became Chair as well. He should have sent someone else.

Chammas: Tigers fans are furious with the club. They’re furious with you and they’re furious with Justin. Is there any chance you resign as chair of the Wests Tigers?

“Hagipantelis: Not at all. I serve at the pleasure of the board. As long as I retain the confidence of the board I will remain in this role. The same could be said for Justin. He fulfils the expectations of his role as the CEO.”

I suspect he knows it, he is just going to make it ugly and painful.

I think he probably knows it but will do as much damage as he can on his way out.

I’m not sure our brand/identity can sink much lower tbh. We’re the laughing stock of the NRL.

Interesting point as part of the new NRL licence agreements clubs are going to to have to have 33% female representation at board level and 25% in management.

You need to update your candidates list @frullens

@the-last-ronin as if you couldn’t find a corporation, that would kill for any kind of exposure , especially if they are trying to break into the Aus market in whatever enterprise . Thinks like US fast food , European tech companies , Asian car manufacturers etc.

Isnt there a saying in marketing that any “exposure is good exposure”.
And any brand who gets on our jersey is 💯 guaranteed exposure .
Look at Brydens . They were a meh law firm , more akin to ambulance chasing , than real law , and now Lee is apparently the most brilliant lawyer of all time and his firm is the most reputable of all firms . (I know that’s hyperbole lol”.
He was on the NSW jersey for a long time , and it wasn’t until he went knee deep in the tigers did that firm truely become a household name .
Even with our ineptitude on the field , I would be shocked if he hasn’t had serious growth since becoming our major sponsor ..

serious question which would you rather sponsor ? A meh team like Canberra or the titans , never spoken about , never on a national televised game , never in the media . Often an afterthought when performing things like remembering all the teams etc.

Or a team like the tigers … shit team . But always in the papers , always on tv , always spoken about , always on billboards , you go for a drive down parra road and there’s brydens everywhere .
To me if you’re in the business of exposure and brand recognition, then I would suggest only Brisbane would get you more exposure .
Every other team is 💯 dependant on whether they win . Including South’s and thier band wagon supporters . Not us . We’ve sucked for 12 years and still rate the house down . Otherwise our board squabbles wouldn’t even make the papers let alone lead the back page .

So far we've only got Ash Barty and Julie Goodwin as female potential candidates - both because they are fans.

I think Ash Barty would be a huge get on the board

There are many thousands of successful women in business who would be great.  I'm not sure which ones are WT supporters, but even if they aren't, I still be looking at getting the best and highest skilled people possible.

I wouldn't mind if we approach Yvonne Sampson.

I'd also think we would be smart to look at having a decent pacifika and indigenous representation on the board, given over 50% of players have pasifika or indigenous background.

Catherine Clark is a sporting administrator, worked for Queensland firebirds ( netball) Australia Paralympic team. Agree with Ash Barty would be a huge get:
