100% agree. But it really doesn't enamour yourself with fans to threaten them with legal action. Lee needs to grow up and know his place. He's Chairman of Wests Tigers, not Chairman Mao.
Lee has made himself the face of the club, a club that is about to collect consecutive wooden spoons after sacking its “transition coach” halfway through the transition. The fact that this guy has such thin skin, says silly stuff in public and generally behaves/looks clownish does not assist in making us a more successful club. I would prefer if he took his sponsorship money and left and we got a proper chairman. Barry O’Farrell is back from India, maybe we should get him back. Or John Coates, that guy is a killer

not a fan of westslife podcast only heard the little comment about Lee, I am not going to repeat what they said on that podcast but probably wasn't the best thing to have said tbh

they cracked jokes implying ,IMO, whether in jest or not , probably the worst thing you could ever imply about someone .
To then double down ,whether you dislike the bloke or not , makes rob look like a fool .

I personally think it's cowardly. You can't develop a public platform via a podcast and then try and pretend you are just a few amateurs, like mates joking around at the pub. It's a very slippery slope into defamation. This very forum is about using a social media presence to attempt to create genuine debate and reform, not to endlessly slag off people you don't like.

My view of all this is that people blur the lines between the Teams Performance,The Boards Performance the Coaches Performance and the Fans Performance. As bad as the Team, Board and Coaches are performing (and they have all failed), I would confidently suggest that an ever increasing number of our Fans behaviour is boardering on rank stupidity and a lack of reality. I was invited to join another website (invitation only with a special password etc etc). I visited it once and it makes the Bulldogs Forum look like a Baptist Podcast! The level of
Defamatory comment, Liable and Venom had to be seen to be believed and a number of these people still post on the other WT Forum. I would remind everyone that George Piggins took issue with a fan who posted untruths about him and it cost the guy his home. I say good on you George and good on you Lee. If people want to make up crap anonymously about Players, Execs and Board Members then they should be prepared to be cop it right back at themselves, even if was meant to be a 'joke'.

I agree with you 💯. Toxic fandom is a real thing . It borders on narcissism, and can really develop into all kinds of crazy behaviour , and as you said outcomes .
Whilst I get frustrated with our lack of success , and for me personally , I’m most frustrated in our lack of capitalism on the Benji/ Robbie era , and the huge good will that brought . It doesn’t justify some of the things I read , and hear . How Luke brooks didn’t sue some of the guys on the other forum , is a testament to his resilience. Because a lot of what got said , really would have given him grounds for a case .
Like I said Rob needs to have a good look in the mirror . Because that apology , if you’ll call it that , shows a real lack of class. And any moral high ground he did have , has been floated down the river now.
It sux , because when we win he can be a real enjoyable dude to listen to .

That podcast is often over the top and is mostly the podcasters venting about how incompetent the administration of the club but the specific comments that were made I think you have to try quite hard to think they are defamatory. That Lee went out of his way to begin legal proceedings and then provide quotes to journalists about it shows his lack of judgement. It goes directly to his fitness to be Chairman IMHO.

I think some of the toxicity comes from certain individuals and I include Rob Bechara and certain individuals on the other forum and discord seek either personal fame or influence/access to the club and IMO this is not a healthy motivation.
I actually admire the founders here/podcast guys/Ambush guys that they don’t explicitly attempt to parlay this into fame or access.
