So when TDS is killing it for Parra, we can sit comfy with the knowledge that Richo was a good bloke to him. The precedent has well and truly been set now that any player wanting out will get it as soon as they want it

Reminder: the fact that you don’t need to pay a player that leaves is not a “benefit to the club” if that player could contribute to wins in our colours. Galvin and TDS combined were on about 700k for 2026 and both would have been in our starting 17. They will need to be replaced so we have gained nothing from their early release.

Get away from the Wests Tigers NRL club HBG. You are an inept and useless organisation. To bastardise a famous Australian quote, you are a lucky club, run mainly by second-rate people who share its luck. Lucky that you managed to find an equally horribly run club in Balmain Tigers in 1999, lucky that Benny Elias stole the Balmain Leagues club from members and drove that club into the dust so that you have complete autonomy to run our club.

Lucky that you happen to be one of 20 odd geriatrics invited to be a debenture holder. I hate you HBG and your terrible ineptitude is the only thing left to change that can change our direction as a club.

We have changed the coaches, the players, the NRL club board. You are the only thing that has stayed constant through our decade + of abject failure. I do not care one iota that you were part of the league in 1908, I’ve never wanted to support the Magpies.

I support the colours of the Wests Tigers and the fact that you small-minded baffoons get off playing in front of 150 people at Lidcome oval in the black and white of an extinct club tells me everything about your motivations.

The WT NRL club have 10k members. We want you gone, we want to be sold to a professional entity, one that drives results, heck I wouldn’t even care if the clubs is moved as long as we play in our colours and are successful.

I am sick and tired of spending my time and money supporting this football club when it is being dragged down by a group of absolute baboons.

HBG out

@TigerTownSFS, congrats on finding the words that I've been struggling with. I was going to say it's the post of the year but it's possibly the post of the decade. To think that those of us who love this club (and Balmain or Wests before it) can be beholden to buffoons of the calibre of HBG is beyond demoralising.

100%. Most other teams have owners who love their club and will do all they can to make the club successful.

Our Owner is happy to run licensed clubs profitably with a new bistro and bar every so often and still support the past with 100 of their mates at Lidcombe Oval.

Not a rumour. Confirmed by a statement by the HBG.

He hasn't been involved with the clubs for months.

My lack of enthusiasm for Richardson as CEO has mostly been based on WT resurrecting someone from the professional wilderness (ala Sheens) and hoping they still have credibility and currency in the vastly different professional sporting landscape of 2025. Until the last 2 days I don't think I've heard an extended radio interview with him or seen him interviewed on TV.

After having listened to his blustering interview on ABC Sport on Sunday afternoon, and now, having watched him interviewed on NRL 360 last night, my lack of enthusiasm has been replaced by embarrassment and genuine concern for the future of the WT.

What a total buffoon he is; an ignoramus with a mouth in overdrive and a mind in neutral. His interview style is to keep talking at volume and pace and bristle at anything that he doesn't agree with. The comments, smirks and body language of Tallis and Anasta as Richardson blathered on, and comments of Andrew Moore and Luke Lewis after the radio interview, indicated to me that he is not someone they regard or take seriously and, IMO, is a liability to the best future of WT and will probably do more harm than good, in the long run.

To think that he is in charge of securing the retention of Api, Luai and Bula (and others) and attracting genuine talent to the club is a frightening prospect to me. I think it's almost time to give up on WT. What a joke.

Respectfully disagree immensely.

Despite the "Chatty" persona in the media

Richo is pragmatic and a force of nature. Richo is willing to make the hard and long-term decisions.

The Tigers have been an embarrassment for almost all of the 25 years we have existed.

We're heading in the right direction (finally)

Richardson has the bravado of days gone past for sure. But he also has the lessons, the scars, the experience, the wins. He is as relevant today as he ever was. HB have been put in their place - as they needed to be; WT Board is now truly independent; coach is getting support as he should and is slowly proving himself; team are fighting like never before; roster is stronger. What more do you want??

@tigersteve i agree with you on Richo. He does like the sound of his own voice but I think he has achieved a lot in a short time. Some examples

- in his first off season he has brought in 5 genuine NRL players (Luai, Skelton, Turuva, Hunt, & Bird). Compare the quality of those signings to any off season recruitment drive over the past 10 years

- executed on the governance reforms (kick-started by fan pressure) that the club desperately needed

He also has the experience that WT desperately needs. The club is subject to more scrutiny than any other in the NRL. CEO of any other club is a walk in the park compared to us.

The issue I have had with Richo is the recruitment of Qld Cup players linked to his son's management company. I think there is a conflict of interest here.

We have up to 8 NRL contracts up for grabs this summer and I trust Benji and Richo to deliver on a further upgrade to our roster.

@mickb I'm sure Richardson and Marshall will be trying to upgrade the roster.  My point is that that is easier when managers and players see WT as a serious club to sign for. With Richardson leading those negotiations we're starting from behind by comparison to other CEOs, IMO. And, will more than likely have to pay "overs" to get  those signatures. I would like to see him disappear as soon as possible.
