Romero and Burgess are beholden to their faction of the Debenture Holders, there is a debenture election up soon and this has led to this situation.

To be fair, a fair few of Romero's quoted concerns regarding the review are completely legitimate and correct in my view and I agree that it could have been improved and done better. She notes the concern that it was "being rushed". Trouble is that the old management blindly rolled along with complete ignorance and incompetence for so long that change become essential immediately so in that sense we cant (and they cant) let perfect be the enemy of the good. They need to run with this imperfect review and run hard with it to get to a point where it can be potentially further reviewed and polished but significant and positive change is required YESTERDAY and they have to get on with it and the review findings are the best we have. Personally Im confident that with Richos guidance they can make it work.
Whilst I am generous to Romero concerning the validity of her concerns, the fact seems to remain that most of this is political and following petty agendas. It seems cartoonish to even think that dinosaurs like Burgess are making Machiavellian moves behind the scenes to "bring back the magpie". too crazy and stupid to even joke about....but seemingly real and these are the people holding to ransom this club, the fans and the players who committed their careers and family's to this club.

Sorry this is incorrect, the debenture holder board appointments are permanent appointments with no terms.

Very soon, but it isn't as simple as that as they have lifetime seats on the HBG board.

IMO its a weird situation. When I read the question "at what point do WT fans...." my immediate thought was "never....WT fans have no direct relation to the HBG board", but I obviously understand and acknowledge the flow on effects and in particular the obvious obstruction of Romero & Burgess to the WT reform.
There is no direct relation from WT fans to the HBG board and even less debenture holders however....HBG are basically the board that controls a series of pokie sheds and these can run profitably with trained chimps on the board and with zero public exposure and investigation. The link to the management of WT and their abject incompetence places a spotlight on an organisation that is all about collecting poker machine profit and running bingo mornings. The stark spotlight may shift things at HBG for the board members and general members that could do without it.
