Shane Richardson is just the latest version of Tim Sheens. Plucked from irrelevance and obscurity to top up his superannuation in some final gig at a desperate club who trust him but with no accountability for his performance. The sooner this freakin joint is privatised and removed from the leeches that are draining it of every opportunity to grow and develop, the better.

I think you are half right. While I still back Richo, the entrenched issues sit above him and are still haunting the place.
This new board has to be announced soon or it’s just the continuation of the status quo of a few with power holding it all to ransom.

I hardly think Richo falls into the category of irrelevancy, purely on the basis of track record.Your overriding cynicism wants to demolish him so prematurely before any of his plans have any chance to solidify .Was it not Richo instrumental in procuring the services of one J.Luai? If so,this CEO plucked from obscurity as you would have it,has to have performed a major coup given the subsequent season JL had.I really believe your attempted character assassination is completely misdirected and skewed.Richo, right from the start(unlike his predecessor)has endeavoured to be direct and honest as to our travails with all the inherited ugliness.Like Benji,Richo deserves at least a couple of years from here.
@mercy-rule this club is already privatised. Removing it from the leeches is impossible because of this.
I hope you're wrong about Richo, but it's starting to feel like his appointment, the report and the sacking of the old board are just more of the same bullshit that's been served up during the decade of despair.
Well, I stand to be corrected on the history of Richardson's recent direct employment with an NRL club prior to him securing the CEO job at WT. I hope you can correct that for me.I hardly think Richo falls into the category of irrelevancy, purely on the basis of track record.Your overriding cynicism wants to demolish him so prematurely before any of his plans have any chance to solidify .Was it not Richo instrumental in procuring the services of one J.Luai? If so,this CEO plucked from obscurity as you would have it,has to have performed a major coup given the subsequent season JL had.I really believe your attempted character assassination is completely misdirected and skewed.Richo, right from the start(unlike his predecessor)has endeavoured to be direct and honest as to our travails with all the inherited ugliness.Like Benji,Richo deserves at least a couple of years from here.
As for Luai's season after signing with WT, are you suggesting there's some sort of correlation there?
As for Richardson being "direct and honest", he is providing comments that he sees as being appropriate. Whether we, the punters, see them as being credible, is for us to decide. And, guess what, sometimes we'll disagree on that.
I think Richardson does deserve a tenure of a couple of years. But, not Marshall. He, through the leadership of Richardson, needs to be on notice; get obvious improvements in performance and results in 2025 or see ya later, bro.
I think Richo's background is excellent, and I hope he becomes a good appointment. His first year in the gig has been reasonably underwhelming though, if looking at things objectively and not giving him the benefit of his success at other clubs. The signing of Luai was great, and he gets props for that for sure.I hardly think Richo falls into the category of irrelevancy, purely on the basis of track record.Your overriding cynicism wants to demolish him so prematurely before any of his plans have any chance to solidify .Was it not Richo instrumental in procuring the services of one J.Luai? If so,this CEO plucked from obscurity as you would have it,has to have performed a major coup given the subsequent season JL had.I really believe your attempted character assassination is completely misdirected and skewed.Richo, right from the start(unlike his predecessor)has endeavoured to be direct and honest as to our travails with all the inherited ugliness.Like Benji,Richo deserves at least a couple of years from here.
Some other things though, have been a bit disappointing.
1) The trip to the UK. He went to get rid of some players AND get some recruits. He did neither.
2) Releasing of Large when under contract.
3) Saying he was going to rejig the home grounds policy, then just did the exact same thing as we had previously.
4) The congratulatory Luke Brooks email
5) Pulling out of the race for AFB, stating "Our forward pack is really strong, and we can add to that with our young players coming through." Our pack is the worst in the game by a long way, we've lost Stef (which is fine) but haven't added anything except Royce Hunt. Moves for 2025 should have happened last offseason, and now we're in a shambles because our forward pack isn't competitive.
6) Re-signing Adam Doueihi, taking up a valuable spot for 2025.
7) Appointing Hodgo as assistant coach.
Outside of the Brooks email, which was just embarrassing and not really impactful, the others were not good moves. If Pascoe had have done those things, he'd be roped over the coals, and deservedly so.
I agree Richo needs more time, and have no issues with him seeing out his contract. Saying that Benji deserves a couple more years though I cannot agree with. If we start the season slow, and we're at risk of losing Galvin, Benji needs to be punted. I would have punted him already, but if we're not going well after 5 or 6 rounds, he needs to be sacked. I have no doubt Benji is a good man manager, but I think he's shown he's a long way away from being a head coach. Not his fault, he should never have been appointed in the first place, but this is a professional competition, and all that matters is winning games.
I can’t see why we wouldn’t be in the realm of parramatta in value if we played regular top 8 football:
The Wests Tigers have been named the 11th most valuable NRL club according to a report by Brand Finance Australia.
The NRL franchise is worth $42m, despite three wooden spoons in a row.

Cowboys $73m
Eels $71m
Roosters $68m
Storm $77m
Bulldogs $51m

Farewell column from Andrew Webster. Maguire was coach 2019-2022. Lee was chairman 2019-2023….
Biggest clusterf--- #2: The slow-moving car crash that has been the Wests Tigers can be summed up with an exchange I had with a high-placed official about then coach Michael Maguire. After 15 minutes of talking about himself, the official said: “Look, I don’t really care what you write about Madge, as long as you don’t bag me.” If you consider what Maguire’s achieved since leaving, you understand he wasn’t the problem.

Obviously speculation on my part but IMO that is 100% Lee.

Its possible, but for all his clear and obvious flaws, ego never seemed to be an issue with Pascoe, I never really got the impression he really cared what was written about him. Lee on the other hand clearly does and threatened a few with defamation.
Also Lee always ingratiated himself around SoO and other League events through the Brydens sponsorship and more likely to rub shoulders with Webster.
Regardless, glad to be rid of both of them and will enjoy tonights gala without them.

He cares massively about what was written about him.
