he seems like a good kid. Very very focused on playing and performing. Think it can only go one of two way: we improve and this kid explodes or we don’t improve and this kid goes somewhere to win.
Gould is really laying it on thick regarding Galvin, he either has a Boy/Man crush on him or is trying to woo him over to Belmore. Either way he needs to commit to us longer term next season and way before the Nov deadline. If he has another good season every club will be having a crack come Nov 25 there are a long list of halves that are coming to the end of their careers at some pretty strong clubs over the next 3 years. The upside is we have Latu waiting in the wings and based on what I have seen of the Luai/Latu/Galvin skills mix I actually think that Latu and Luai are a more natural combination. Latu plays a bit more structure whereas Galvin is popping up all over the place in attack and with Luai that could make things very messy. Latu is also a stronger defender. My guess is that for the Galvin/Luai combination to work, Luai will need to adjust his game much more than Galvin does and will may blunt his x factor, with Latu he can probably play more of his natural game.Phil Gould: He is Rookie of the Year from here to Mars
Just listened to the Wests Tigers Faithful podcast spine review. If you get the chance listen to the last 7 or 8 minutes of their review of Lachie.
They played a voice message of one of the guys straight after he watched the Australian Schoolboys game last year & he basically predicted exactly what we all saw happen this year with Lachie. But also now predicts that by the time he’s finished playing he will have reinvented the position. That’s a very simple summary.Just listened to the Wests Tigers Faithful podcast spine review. The 6. Give it a listen, just the last 12 minutes. We all thought at that point last year he’d have a very good future but this guy went beyond that & got it spot on. Great foresight. Their reviews of each position is very good, some great points made & good stats etc. They played a voice message of one of the guys straight after he watched the Australian Schoolboys game last year & he basically predicted exactly what we all saw happen this year with Lachie. Noticed on another thread Luai mentioned as a sponsor’s dream, I think Lachie is too. Ask yourself this, have you known a kid to come into first grade in his first year out of school, play so well & handle media as well as he has? “It’s mad”. Maybe there has been but I can’t recall. If he continues on the trajectory he’s on with his footy, and why wouldn’t he, he’ll become such a well known personality especially for the Campbelltown & MacArthur region that many will be looking at him to help advertise their product or services. “It’s mad”. He’s going to make a lot of money out of playing but he could make even more from sponsorship & third party deals. “It’s mad” If his manager is going to earn his money that’s the way he’ll do it.

Yes, and the more entrenched he is in club and community the better.

The more we make him feel special, the way Richo & Benji & maybe even Luai now make him feel special will help. It’s about time that area of Sydney had a superstar football player represent them. Yes, winning will help too, he wants to win naturally. Hopefully we can add a middle this year & bring in one or two players (the cream) for 2026 to give us a better chance to win.Noticed on another thread Luai mentioned as a sponsor’s dream, I think Lachie is too. Totally agree with all this. Being a local hero with the fans and community could present the strongest argument for him to stay with us.
Luai perfectly positioned to show him how to do this. Galvin on Luai from the SMH online article: "He's going to help us so much and change the culture around here".
Change the culture. Really? I wonder what he meant by that?
And, who among coaching and playing staff might find it a bit of a confronting comment from a rookie team mate?

There has been plenty of talk that part of the Luai signing was to do with his ability to drive standards and culture.
