Screwed over once again by a Moses! How will a transfer fee help us this season? I'd rather see him rot in reserves than join another club mid-season. What if he joins the eels, & they beat us to a top 8 spot?
I thought through that as well, however i dont think that is the case with him.....he wants to play first grade and wants to be the main man. I think the best thing for him is to move back to reserve grade and develop his game, however that will mean he is back competing for a first grade spot with the up and coming juniors that the dogs have already. I just see too much disruption with a move to the dogs. He was very specific in his commentary about the reason he wants to move and that is "to develop as a half" I think the issue is that Richo and Benji dont see him staying in the halves and Ciraldo and Gould have made a similar comment. So Parra have probably guaranteed him a first grade spot for 2026 as the 5/8, they will spin it that Moses is taking him under his wing to develop him as a premier half or some such bullshit to cover off the development angle. If it’s about development as Galvin says I think should he end up at the Dogs he will not be going into first grade straight away. He’ll have to develop & earn a spot. But given he has a previous mentor there & a good mate in Flegg I think he’d be ok with it, He just didn’t want to play here.I'm guessing the board have to rubber stamp Richo giving the go ahead for other teams to make an offer for Galvin as it is something that will obviously create a bit of noise in the media and have an impact on the club. I'm sure the usual media vultures are swooping around trying to get some inside info so its quite surprising that nothing has come out yet. Its likely he has already made a verbal deal with a team (or perhaps 2) and it will now be formalizing that. The dogs will not pay anywhere near what parra would offer however they are a proven team that are topping the table, the issue is how does he fit in there and where does he fit, it will also screw over the young kids they have coming through that have massive raps on them. I still think he ends up at Parra, its a perfect fit for him to play 5/8 beside Moses, he lacks a kicking game and speed, and they are both areas that Moses has easily covered, Parra's roster is not as bad as some people think and they will be competitive again fairly quickly.
Then again i could be entirely wrong

I agree with the sentiment of your post, but if Parra beat us into the top 8 it won't be because of gaining Galvin.

I think its good business for us to let him negotiate now. We've dodged a bullet on that huge contract but its also set the market value that others will have to pay to get him. It takes away the time and cost needed to defend the stupid bullying claim, and while i'd prefer a player transfer than money - at least we'll get compensation. Get it done Richo!
The best thing for the team is Galvin pissing off ! IMO there will be some heavy conversations in the Galvin house in a few years why he walked away from millions of dollars … maybe someone’s uncontrolled hatred of the club will be at the expense of Galvin in the long run . In the end who cares he is going and will struggle to make the grade Imo the sooner the better!.
The whole idea of a player swap is a bit pie in the sky, you have to have a quality player that they are willing to give up and that is willing to come to your club so the stars have to align.
I guess it’s all speculation but we do know for a fact he has contacts at Dogs & they are winning. They also have a great coach who can develop players. My instincts tell me he’s been in constant contact with his previous mentor from Westfields I think who is at the Dogs. And he’s sold the club to Galvin & family. But as you put it, I could be completely wrong.I thought through that as well, however i dont think that is the case with him.....he wants to play first grade and wants to be the main man. This is all so scripted that it's disgusting.

if he gets to the dogs they can win the comp unfortunately
if Pascoe had agreed to a transfer fee the place would be in a meltdown.
Screwed over once again by a Moses! How will a transfer fee help us this season? I'd rather see him rot in reserves than join another club mid-season. What if he joins the eels, & they beat us to a top 8 spot?
I agree with the sentiment of your post, but if Parra beat us into the top 8 it won't be because of gaining Galvin.
if he goes to Parramatta (don't think he will) he will contribute plenty to that team probably as a 13 for this year
Jedi as a 13 this year you are kidding me have you watched he's defence.Screwed over once again by a Moses! How will a transfer fee help us this season? I'd rather see him rot in reserves than join another club mid-season. What if he joins the eels, & they beat us to a top 8 spot?

his attack would be immense in that dogs team and the forwards are mobile enough to cover him not like our side
I get everyone is filthy on how he is leaving me included he is still a pretty decent player in a good team like the dogs he would be very valuable
Jedi I was responding to your comment that you believe Galvin can offer parra something at 13 this season. I disagree with this . I made no comment on him going to the dogs no one is saying he can't play I'm just commenting on his defence. As for being filthy that he's going I couldn't care less if he doesn't want to be at my club I don't want him hereJedi as a 13 this year you are kidding me have you watched he's defence.Screwed over once again by a Moses! Enough is enough. Put him in the regies and leave him there and to have no contact with the first 17. Transfer fees do nothing and don't send the right message.
Like many I'm not happy that we may release Galvin without a decent player in return. But...
We wanted a better CEO, and we got him. We wanted a better board, and we have one.
If they've thrashed this out in a meeting and the decision has been made that he can be released provided certain conditions are met, I accept it. The transfer fee may be high. There may be other movements in play.
We are no longer run by fools and I'm sure that Richo would have reported to the board with every possible angle having been considered, and without emotional sway.
So, I'll put aside my own emotions of how deplorable I think the agent has acted towards us (again!!) and how rejected I feel for the club.
Good riddance Lachlan!
