I’m surprised Jordan Miller isn’t being discussed more in regards to what he can bring to the team in coming years.

If he was to have a big off season I could see him having a breakout 2025, and he should be motivated as there is a position currently available.

Fingers crossed he can be a surprise packet for us.

I agree with the fingers crossed part but I'd put the relative silence on his discussion down to a few things:

  1. Tigers fans have been burned by "new hope" too many times over the years, lets see how this one plays out...
  2. His juniors career has been good but clearly influenced by the fact he has been huge relative to his peers, lets see how he goes against guys as big as him...
  3. His body type and build is going to require discipline and hard work, not too things regularly associated with 20yo's.
  4. He is a kid in one of the toughest positions in world sport, where they dont usually mature until late 20's.

I am genuinely hopeful that Jordan makes it and is a star, but not expecting it. Would love to be amazed.

Very promising young player. It’s as much about the mental side of playing consistently at NRL level as much it is about the fitness with him. But once he can knuckle down and really commit to what it takes he’ll be an asset. And he is one of those players who could be a difference maker.

I look at Miller the same way I look at Johannsen. Might end up being ok but years away from being an NRL regular.

Jordan can play a role for us next year, I believe from what I have seen he has the skills to be a good player, that said he will likely never be a big minutes player. I think Johansen based on his body type might be able to deliver big minutes. However, we still need a decent Middle that can make an impact and play 50mins. That said we need to be mindful of the fact that the dynamic will change in 2025, if we can get Turuva, Olam and Skelton hitting the ball up on early tackles it will take a massive load off our forwards, and they then may be able to play bigger (quality) minutes and their focus will be on more attacking hit ups and defense. In 2024 our forwards had to do way too many dirty hit ups to get us on the front foot as Staines, Faatape, Naden and co were getting rolled back and making minimal meters so our forwards had to travel further back to get back on side and make more hit ups to get us into decent field position. They were exhausted and it really showed at the back end of each half.

I gotta say he didn’t impress me. He would need to improve 300% for me to even notice him.

Good observations 👍

Reckon Johannsen is more likely, more mature physically and mentally. Agree with Miller.

Something Johannsen might bring is agility and a quick play the ball.

Miller is a good prospect but right now we need an experienced enforcer who will lead our pack. We need NAS

One other thing about Jordan is he didn’t have a good prep going into this season & he played very little SG Ball last year due to a leg injury. For a fella his size that was far from ideal. He still managed to do well considering all this & his inexperience but if he has a normal prep this coming season then we’ll get a much better understanding of what he is capable of.

Yes you are correct, he did have a limited pre season and if you go by how his body shape changed throughout the year a solid pre season could turn him into something special.

Fingers crossed for him and us, would be great to be able to promote from within and build that connection like the Panthers have.

I think what happened last year is he managed only one appearance in Flegg once the Ball season had finished. A few of the other guys like Kit were able to play more games. Had Jordan not been injured he might’ve played the season out in that grade & maybe a game or 2 in cup. Ideally that would’ve been the case & he could’ve had the 6 weeks off training himself then come into preseason in better condition but he was rehabbing for the majority of that time, several months.

Former chairman Lee Hagipantelis hired to represent sacked Wests Tigers rookie Jordan Miller against the club | Sunday Session

Wests Tigers’ major sponsor and former chairman Lee Hagipantelis has been hired to represent sacked rising star Jordan Miller against the NRL club.

The turbulent relationship between the Tigers and their former chairman Lee Hagipantelis has exploded once with the club’s outgoing major sponsor at the centre of legal action being undertaken against the club over the sacking of rising star Jordan Miller.

Hagipantelis’ firm Brydens Lawyers has taken on the case to represent Miller against the Tigers just days before he formally cuts ties as the club’s major sponsor, with that deal expiring at the end of this month.
Hagipantelis confirmed that Brydens Lawyers had taken on Miller’s case, but would not be drawn into the specifics of the matter.
It is understood that the 19-year-old is disputing the club’s reasoning for their intent to terminate his contract.
The matter is now expected to head to arbitration and could end up in the courtroom if it is not resolved.

Former Wests Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis has been hired to represent a player against the club.
The Tigers will claim that Miller was late to a training session – for the second time – and was subsequently breached leading to his impending sacking.
However, the youngster will claim the most recent breach occurred because of extenuating circumstances relating to a personal nature.

Police are involved but there are no allegations of any wrongdoing by Miller aside from getting to training late. Despite the personal upheaval he still attended the session.
Miller made his NRL debut this year and played two games off the bench. He is contracted to the Tigers until the end of 2026 and represented Fiji in their Test against PNG last weekend.
The fact that Miller has chosen Hagipantelis to take on the matter adds another layer to the fractious relationship between the club’s former high profile chairman.

Hagipantelis was dumped as chairman last December after a wide-ranging review and subsequently told the club he would not be renewing his major partnership deal.
Hagipantelis described the process that led to his departure as “despicable” in a letter The Sunday Telegraph obtained in May.
“The disgraceful events of 12 December last year impacted significantly and adversely on the relationship of Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers given the disrespectful way I, as chairman of Wests Tigers, was treated by the representatives of the club’s stakeholders,” Hagipantelis wrote.
“Recent events have compounded the concerns which I have held with respect to the continuing relationship of Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers.”

Hagipantelis wished coach Benji Marshall and the club well, but feared for it’s future.
“I have the philosophical difficulty of continuing in business with people in whom I repose no respect,” he said.
“I speak of the representatives of the stakeholders with whom I had the displeasure of serving on the Board.
“These persons are still engaged in the Club whether it be in a formal or informal capacity.
“I regard these people as cowards.”
Hagipantelis has not attended any Tigers home game this year nor any formal functions despite putting in seven figures to help fund the club.
The Tigers are yet to announce a new front of jersey sponsor.
