Who cares, he's contracted to us. He's not allowed to play for anyone else unless we release him. So he either plays for us (as depressing as that may be for him) or he sits on the sideline and earns no money for 3 years. Simple.

Agreed. We have a signed contract. We just have to hang tough. Pascoe and the board have to be strong.

Gee he can even mow the lawns....

I expect him in blue and yellow next season.

If the club lets Papalii reneg on the contract that will be the end of my relationship with the Tigers. This is not  releasing someone for “family reasons” or because we get a “better outcome”, there is no other 2RF in the comp that is of comparable quality for comparable money and we can’t attract anyone or quality anyway. Absolutely under no circumstances should we even entertain this idea. Do this and I hand back my membership and you will never see me on this forum again

@celtic_tiger I think your right I think the club is done .. there is no desire for success , no leadership and a Congo line of jobs for the boys . It’s time the Wests group decided what they want and if it means selling the place to someone that is invested in driving the club forward then SELL the club .

The Tigers have asked him to give the club more time to sort out its future before making his next move.

That tells me he isn’t 100% about coming.

Also tells me that the club is useless and weak.

Why would you ask him to give them more time before making his move? He has a Contract with the Tigers. The Tigers will tell him his next move for Gods sake.

Not these clowns.

We all know how this will turn out. Not only will the club roll over and let him out of his Contract all the while boasting about a "favourable outcome" ($$$), but the Tigers will also sign Nathan Brown on full freight to clear the Eels cap to resign Papali'i.

Tell me Im wrong.

EDIT: Just realised Im quoting myself....this Club has finally driven me mad.

The NRL need to get serious about promoting an even competition and the value of a contract. They should step in if he asks for a release and back the Tigers if we refuse.

Why or how wouldnt they? Its a Contract. End of.

Tim Sheens on Isaiah Papali'i situation

“After Cameron Ciraldo said no, [Isaiah] wanted to know who was going to be leading us. We met with him. He has since assured the club that he’s coming. I’m comfortable that there is no problem at all."

Because they are weak and favour the strong clubs. They have let player managers have too much control.

When the boys on the last pod were saying how the madge sacking had no effect on Papali'i and Api and they were still glowing about the club - I thought don't you jinx it

...... 😬

The benefit of sacking a coach mod seasonw its no guaranteed replacement needs to be weighed up against all the negatives and risks

Top 8 2023

What's your source on that quote?

Its a direct quote (meaning quoting Tim Sheens directly) from a Michael Chammas tweet.

At some point clubs need to stand up to poor behaviour from players and simply enforce contracts.

100%. Hopefully based on Chammas tweet (imagine relying on the truth of anything from him) it will not be necessary in this case.

I thought that was a very naïve attitude.

If there’s any substance to this being true then the likes of Sheens, Pascoe and crew need to be held accountable for the mess they’ve created.

This is getting beyond frustrating for the fans.
