@mercy-rule ???  You do realise guys like this cavanaugh are the reason we have been a basket case for all these years ? Long before Lee and Pascoe turned up ?
they’re the same guys who meddled when Tim wanted more money for a gym in the 00s . They’re the same bozos who wanted to sink beers with their mates in the corporate boxes , so they let any and everybody ply whatever games , because at the end of the day they’re a tigers board member .
Every leak ,  , every crap power struggle because go the Maggie’s … tigess” .

these guys are an absolute cancer and have been in and amongst this club for too long .
do you even know how poorly run the wests rl is ? How for years that district pissed money up the wall and nearly none of it ever filtered down to the clubs. That’s as big of a a stain on this clubs inability to develop players as it is on the wests tigers themselves .
I find the anti Pascoe / Lee stuff so frustrating . Make no mistake I think Pascoe is a good CEO but a crap Club leader . I think Lee is in it for the SEN talk bank shows and the press and I’m not sure he’s up to it at all .
But as I said they are not the problem . People like this Cavanaugh bloke have , and continue to be , the rot festering through this club .

Do you realise that I have to accept and believe your comment and opinion? And, that I don't?

One thing I will give Pascoe/LH credit for is not taking the bait and declining to comment, thus seemingly ending the public discourse.

That said, ready to rescind that if and when Lee tees off this bloke on his radio appearance(s) this week (is he still doing this?).

Surely that's part of Cavanagh's criticism,  our embarrassing Chairman Mouth using airtime on a nuffie radio station to pretend that all is well in the world of WT NRL leadership and management.

It's not.

And, he and Pascoe should be help to account, not by their own metrics, but by that of those who pay for membership and sponsor the place.

I think Steve nailed it on the podcast, by all means have these conversations behind closed doors but you never air your dirty laundry in public. This is not a random fan this is the Chairman of one of our associated clubs who has direct membership on the WT board who’s role it is to hold the CEO to account.

if you dig into the broader wests ownership and management structures they still are a mess. From what I can tell Wests Ashfield have controlling ownership/representation on all relevant Boards within the broad umbrella of organisations (except Balmain rugby league club). If we want to hold anyone to account it would have to be Wests Ashfield as they control both the WT and WDRL boards and have majority ownership of WT. The fact that we have our major sponsor as Chairman is a clear corporate governance failure and one that has demonstrably a failure. The Chairman and the CEO are obviously very close and that creates risk that we oversight of the WT organisation by the Board may be lacking (although we don’t know what Pascoes KPIs actually entail). Whilst WDRLC doesn’t have much to do with WT (not sure if they run the juniors in Campbelltown anymore either?) they are clearly an important stakeholder in the club so they need to be working towards the best interests of the organisation.

My point is that it is probably true that:

1) this Cavanaugh guy shouldn’t be in a position of power and influence in the club given clear lack of judgement

2) we need a strong independent chairman of WT to hold the executives of the organisation to account

3) Wests Ashfield are the only entity who can make the required changes given their dominant ownership position

I don’t see this blow up as a Wests v Balmain thing. These types of conversations happen regularly in any organisation within the leadership group. Leaders question each other in their roles on the performance, health and direction of their organisation, nothing wrong with that. The only problem here is that this conversation occurred in public or was leaked.

If the Wests chairman did indeed have this conversation in public then he should be sacked. But, Justin and Lee do need to acknowledge that we did come last (this is fact) and in a result driven business is not acceptable. The leadership (board, CEO and Sheens) all are responsible, the results are a reflection of their leadership qualities and football acumen.

Unless premierships are won regularly, the leadership must accept criticism.

I have heard Pascoe reference this multiple times. What do you expect them to do? Sack themselves? If there were no changes happening, I think the board would be compelled to get rid of Pascoe, but even the biggest Pascoe hater would have to acknowledge that Tigers Management have put in place a LOT of change. Time will tell if this is the turnaround we need.

Ive said it too many times in this thread and everyone is more than entitled to their own opinions. I 100% understand the animosity to Pascoe and Lee, I agree with a fair chunk of it, but in this case I dont think either have done the wrong thing.

The point I was making was that leaders need to have tough conversations and expect criticism when things aren’t going well and then do things differently to improve the club year on year.

I’m not a Pascoe hater. I have made numerous posts supportive of his administrative skills. As you have mentioned, Pascoe has made significant change this year which he should be commended for. Finally it seems he is investing in the football operations at the club.

Hagipantelis also insisted there was no truth to the rumours at the club and the Tigers have never been more united ahead of an NRL season.

“(Cavanagh) is a minority stakeholder in the Wests Tigers,” Hagipantelis added.

“He has been a vocal critic of the Wests Tigers, myself and Justin Pascoe.

“He is perfectly entitled to his views no matter how demented they are.

“The Tigers enjoy an excellent relationship with all three stakeholders.

“We are as united and solid a club as we have ever been.

“The suggestion in the article on Sunday that we are plagued by in-fighting is not only dishonest but mischievous.

“This club stands united and we are ready to deal with the 2023 NRL season.”

He just can't help himself.

There's also quotes from him earlier in the story re: Bateman, describing chat of WT not doing due diligence on his injury as 'offensive' and 'insulting'. He really does have incredibly thin skin.

He sounded very juvenile on the radio this morning. I was quite embarrassed to hear the chairman of the club behave in such a sad & sorry manner.

our chairman has a penchant for using silly descriptive words and emotive language. The communication from the club had improved until this. The guy loves the sound of his own voice and can’t accept any negative feedback.
