I know that it’s a vexed issue, but whatever the case I believe we have to be playing predominantly out of one ground. We’ve essentially become roving nomads unable to develop our own foothold let alone fortress.

Watching the Sharks playing in front of a fanatical partisan crowd just reinforces the notion.Down to 11/12 men the packed house at Woolooware was having nothing to do with a loss, nor was the team.I know the Warriors were all over the shop but that partisan crowd has the ability to intimidate and also to influence and sway the referee.

As for the weekend, nobody tell me that Brookvale doesn’t become a factor of sorts.

I’m adamant that we need to become a predominantly one ground team with a nostalgia clause allowing a couple of games out of Leichhardt, otherwise we’re just chasing our tail.

If we are happy to ground share then it should be at the new SFS and certainly not Liverpool. It's really a no brainer.

Just an aside on CSS, the word on the football grapevine is that Macarthur Bulls are really struggling and may not be able to complete in the A league next season. Their attendances have been way below projections sometimes less than two thousand turning up making them financially non-viable.

I realise football is not NRL and there are some other factors in play, but it's food for thought for those advocating moving the Tigers predominantly to the area and throws a question over this supposed untapped market of sports fans living there.

It’s a worry, have they not had much success on field?

They actually performed pretty well , just missed out on the finals in 7th place after making the semi final last year.

I do think that many assumptions have been made regarding the potential in the area but the Bull's failure should be an alarm bell for the Tigers.

campbletown is where professional sports teams go to die

in ALeague plenty of wanderers fans live out campbletown way

With nrl fans of many nrl teams live out that way not just wests tigers fans

As others have said if we are venue sharing then it has to be the state of the art SFS surely rather than Liverpool

It depends on what that one ground is and that is the core of the problem.

No way we have a Shark Park or Brooky atmosphere at Homebush or even SFS. Possibly at Bankwest but there are issues there as well.

To be honest the only ground that fits the bill that you are guaranteed that atmosphere (if we are winning) is Leichhardt and to a lesser degree CSS.

make Liechardt the main stadium then....

Problem is we have been 20 years in the making we have to split areas otherwise one area is left disillusioned by the wayside

The trouble with Leichhardt is that it’s a logistical high density nightmare(as much as I love the place, and personally would love every game there),getting in and out isn’t too flash if you’re driving. That’s before you even step inside the ground and start considering refurbishments.

If you check the stats CSS has just as much pulling power as Leichhardt if we’re winning.Unfortunately there’s been precious little of that over the past decade.Still,to me it remains the logical choice. We have a footprint in the Macarthur, and would be stupid to relinquish it.

I think the "getting to LO" issue is overstated. When parking is open at Orange Grove, Ive never had a problem and public transport is as good as most grounds. Most grounds dont have great parking options other than Homebush.

I agree that CSS has as much potential as LO. Im biased and think the atmosphere is better at LO but they are similar type grounds with similar plusses and minuses. Transport better at CSS.

Has the club ever published or does anyone on the forum know the geographic split of our fans?

@tiger5150 The facts remains that ANZ has  the biggest crowd averages of all of the other grounds .

Which means that the majority of the fan base do

not mind the place .. it’s the other small proportion of the fan base with agendas that keep rehashing this issue .I will say once again there are three modern and appropriate stadiums available it’s time to choose one as the majority of the supporter base seem to agree !

This would be handy info to know, the club probably has done multiple reviews/analysis of its fan base.

The fact that the Rabbits have over 30k members and average below 20k at stadium Australia despite it being their home ground since 2006 tells you all you need to know about using Homebush as a home ground full time.

I wasnt "rehashing" the issue, I was merely responding to Tiger Symmetry's point that "one home ground" would engender a "Brookie-like" atmosphere. I think its self evident that by merely picking one ground, it isnt going to necessarily give that result. You would need 50K plus at Homebush to produce something like that. I dont think there is much dispute as to which ground is best suited to providing a "Brooky-like" atmosphere.

Whilst we are on the topic though, the biggest average being at ANZ is meaningless as up until about two years ago, the club intentionally played all of the biggest drawing opposition there including the regular Easter Sunday match v Eels there which regularly draws over 30K from out of the easter show next door. I was there 4 years ago for the Easter Match v Parra and there was over 30K and it felt empty and lifeless. I took international guests to that game as their first experience of RL and they thought it was OK. Took them to LO a couple of weeks later and they were pumped.

Not arguing which is "better" but Tiger Symmetry's original point was "atmosphere".

All good points, it’s bloody hard to get a conclusion to this debate.
