The problem with that is the planning for the Junior Academy in the Macarthur started around 2006..
Not sure what to make of this but it came from a good mate. His daughter who works at UWS was at a meeting recently where senior management were discussing projects to increase UWS profile in the MacArthur region. There was mention of the NSW govt spending 5 billion in Western Sydney although I haven’t heard about this. Anyway his daughter says the Uni has signed a MoU with Wests Tigers in relation to community sport in the region. A part of this seems to be plans for upgrades to Campbelltown Stadium as well as the possibility of a community based centre of excellence (yes, one of those again). Apparently waiting for govt approval of the funds late March. No mention of how much funding and obviously no news of this from Wests Tigers but interesting to see what comes of it next month or so.
That’s the way to do it. However I’ll believe it when the ink is on the contracts which I believe will be around the 12th (of never) and that’s a long, long time.
